Morrocanoil dry shampoo dark tone leaves white residue

Hi everyone! Not sure if this is the right platform but I previously used a smaller sized dark tone dry shampoo from Morrocanoil and it never left white residue. I remember the residue would dry brown but when I bought a larger size of the same dry shampoo last November and just used it for the first time today, it’s white and makes my dark brown hair appear gray unless I let it sit for a long while…I use dry shampoo very rarely so maybe I’m not recalling my previous experience well. 

Does anyone know if the formula changed or maybe I got a bad batch?
