More Volume!

I have thick, semi long, wavy hair and I am looking for recommendations on how I could create more volume in my hair (mainly my roots). I have looked at the different products available but I am unsure which one to try, I am leaning toward using a leave in product and not a shampoo or conditioner but I am still open to using them if they would work best.

try a crimping iron, i use mine everyday and never have to worry about my hair getting flat. just takes some practice to get it just right so it doesn't peek through the top layers of hair.
