Lamellar water/hair glosses/rinses, etc.

Does anyone have insight into these types of products?

Re: Lamellar water/hair glosses/rinses, etc.

@greeneyedgirl107

I have tried the amika Flash Instant Shine Hair Gloss Mask 6.7 oz / 200 mL . I bought it from my hairdresser. She didn't caution about overuse, but she did say that the effects are short-lived and cosmetic only, not like a mask that can actually improve your hair.  Maybe that doesn't apply to all glosses though.

I imagine that if you used the gloss consistently in place of mask or conditioner, you could damage your hair, not because of anything bad that the gloss was doing, but because you would not be getting the benefits of the mask.

Or maybe some glosses bind to the hair in such a way that masks and conditioers can't penetrate?

I liked the Flash gloss, but it was not a super-dramatic effect.

@Mel231 thanks for the info!

@greeneyedgirl107 Idk if it's lamellar but I've tried the amika Flash Instant Shine Hair Gloss Mask 6.7 oz / 200 mL and the L'Oreal 5-min Glossing Mask. I had good instant results with both but never used them consistently enough to determine long term effects. My hair is pretty healthy so I use products like that only once a month or so.

@makeitup305 thanks for the input!

Re: Lamellar water

Funny I was talking to my hairstylist about  this recently. @greeneyedgirl107 .  I haven't tried it since my hair doesn't need it.

it is a water-based formula. that allows  it to target damaged areas .

The conditioning agents t fill in damaged areas, smoothing the hair's surface. . It provides instant shine without weighing down your hair.  You have to be careful as overuse can lead to hair thinning.

Re: Lamellar water

@CorgiMommy interesting about the overuse.  I wonder what would qualify as overuse....once a week, once a month?

And I wonder how hard it is to apply just the right amount.

Re: Lamellar water

Sorry I don't know the answer to that.  I don't go back to my stylist for a few more weeks.  I  cam ask then @greeneyedgirl107

Re: Lamellar water

@CorgiMommy that would be nice, but only if you remember!  I'm just at the beginning of my searching, and it takes me forever to try new hair products.   Thanks!
