Hair

So basically my hair is super greasy at the roots but everything else is dry and frizzy. But I don’t put conditioner on my roots. I need a new shampoo and conditioner. Help a girl out

Re: Hair

Have you found a  product that works  & you like?

My hair is more on the dry side but curly.

I'm looking for a product that will define my curls & control frizz

Re: Hair

I got you friend!

Shower routine

1. Brush your hair before showering - get tangles out now. Hair is weaker when wet

2. Scalp Care: Optional. I noticed that the more hydrated my scalp was, the less oily it would become. I started using pre wash hair oil and leaving it in for 15-60 min before a shower sometimes - and it helped. I like the one by JVN. Just don’t saturate your hair lol

3. Shampoo: you probably should shampoo twice. Particularly if you notice minimal suds on the first wash, go again with a second shampoo (a little less shampoo). Or maybe just wash your hair more often. Give your scalp a nice massage with finger tips not your nails. You should NOT be applying shampoo to your ends

If my ends are really dry, sometimes when I rinse I hold the lengths of my hair in a ponytail to the side like this 0— so the shampoo doesn’t run down my hair while rinsing, and dry out the ends.

4. Conditioner: Great! only condition lengths of your hair - NOT the scalp. A hair mask could also help a lot. Leave in at least 5 min. Sometimes I put my hair in low bun with a claw clip to make sure it’s not getting rinsed away too early

After shower

1. Leave in conditioner!! Only on the lengths of your hair. Will make SUCH a difference. You need to lock in moisture somehow, and this is what leave in conditioner does. I find it helps to squeeze strands with the product, to seal strands (not pulling). Squish to condish! Lol

2. Hair Oil. I LOVE using hair oil on the tips of my hair. Smooths strands and makes them shiny

***consistently wash hair brushes. Clean pillow case. Try limiting hair products (gel, hairspray etc). Try more up dos.

I don’t want to overwhelm you with products; trying different washing schedules/techniques is more important. But your top 3 are a good shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner.

for shampoo/conditioner I like JVN and Bondi Boost. Leave in conditioner - Ouai

best of luck!

Oooòps that message was for you Denise duh!

Re: Hair

Thanks Kayy 😊

I do follow most of your advice, plus I wear. a scrunchie to bed cause if I don't I end up with such tangles that I had to buy "tangle  free" spray to even get a pic through! I think 1/2 of my dryness is from getting it colored but I always get a trim at the same time? I do use a lot of product so maybe I'll cut down. I will definitely check out your product suggestions! Re: Hair

@kayy76  I use to have super greasy hair at my roots but the rest was dry. I started shampooing twice. I’ve found since shampooing twice my hair isn’t getting greasy anymore. For dry frizzy hair I like Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair!™ Hair Repair Remedies Gift Set  this shampoo and conditioner set is amazing. I also have been loving Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Split End Repair + Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner 4 oz / 118 ml ive Seen so much difference in my hair since using it. I also suggest K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Hair Repair Starter Set  as a mask. It’s done wonders to my hair. It’s a bit of a splurge but 100% worth it!
