Hair Product Recommendation Help

Every time I go to the stylist, my hair holds a really nice curl. I always ask them what they use and follow their technique, when I get home and imitate what they've done, my hair refuses to hold a curl, frizzes out and falls flat. I have a Hot Tools Tapered Wand, Hot Tools 1\" Curling Iron, and Hot Tools Black Gold Flat Iron. I'm thinking about the Tyme Iron and L'ange products, any thoughts on those? Or any otherthoughts, ideas, suggestions because I'm open to pretty much anything at this point.
