Hair Mask Suggestions & Oribe Dupe

Hello Beautiful people,

I just recently got my hair cut shorter into a lob and the hair stylist used Oribe Signature Moisture Mask. While my hair felt great and looked smooth, I have a lot of thin hair which makes it look thick but I am experiencing breakage. I was curious if there is a cheaper dupe or other suggestions.

Thanks!

@BeautyWonder

 Hair stylist here. If you are experiencing breakage this is generally a sign that your hair is lacking in protein. Our hair is compromised of 91% protein (Keratin) and through chemical processing, mechanical abuse (too much heat styling), over washing your hair, brushing when wet we deplete protein.

I would try Joico K-pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructing Treatment.

Re: Hair Mask Suggestions & Oribe Dupe

@GG84. Thank you for explaining why the hair is breaking down. I do use heat protectant but I think the styling and highlights may have overdone it. I appreciate your feedback. Now I just need 5o figure out how to style my lob that my new stylist razored which made my hair even frizzier.

@BeautyWonder

 Razor cutting for a lob is actually ideal as 99% of the time the client would like some texture and for someone who has straight hair, razoring will allow for texture. I can't speak for the stylist who did your hair and I also don't know your hair texture however I understand the use of a razor vs shears (that should have been discussed during consultation though). Dry texture sprays work great for lobs but can be drying, so if you are going that route be sure to use a good cream based leave in conditioner.

Re: Hair Mask Suggestions & Oribe Dupe

@BeautyWonder I use Oribe products and love them.  I know it can be quite expensive but it is worth every penny.  If you love Oribe I suggest you try the brands Alterna, Pureology, Biolage, Fekkai, Joico, and Macadamia Hair Care.  They all make hair masks that I have tried and loved.  You can find all these brands at Ulta.

@SportyGirly125 The pri e is why I was asking for a dupe lol but sometimes we get what we pay for. I may wait to see if it goes on sale and the stylist said that a little goes a long way.

Thank you for the suggestions, I have tried most of those brands before, I might want to get some sample packs of the Jocio hair masks since that has worked in the past.
