Soft rollers like flex rods are great for curls without heat.  I'll sleep in them and wake up with nice curls if I rolled them properly.

When I want loose curls, I use Grace Eleyae Edge Brush Tamer , the pointy end, like a hair pick.

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

I have absolutely PERFECTED my hair routine after many many tries

First, investing in a good quality hair brush and wide tooth comb for detangling is the way to go.
Next, shampoo and conditioner. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and in between LOVVEEE to use amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo to keep my hair feeling and smelling super nice. For shampoo and conditioner i love IGK Hot Girls Hydrating Shampoo and IGK Hot Girls Hydrating Conditioner super hydrating since my hair is dry, and it smells AMAZING.

After a shower the BEST BEST BEST thing is your leave in products. Ive been OBSESSED with Olaplex No. 9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum 3 oz / 90 mL and mix that with the Verb Ghost Jumbo Value Set with Ghost Oil™ (its not letting me tag just the Verb Ghost Oil but I LOVE IT. Its a perfect consistency for dry hair)

I always always always do masks atleast once a week for some self care but also for hair health ive been using Olaplex No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment and Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector and theyre the perfect combination. Leaves my hair shiny and stronger and just *chefs kiss*

Im an air dry gal and this routine has made my hair feel amazing and made me feel like I dont have to use heat for my hair to look amazing! Hope this helps besties!!

When my ends don't lie flat or sleek enough after flat ironing, I go over them again on a higher setting with my flat iron.  I know this is a short term solution with long-term consequences, but it works for me.

Someone told me to be washing my hairbrushes as regularly as my makeup brushes! This is such a game changer (apparently the oil buildup on your hairbrush can keep it from distributing oils and can actually brush nasty old oils/dirt back into your hair). Just soak them in a mixture of vinegar and hot water for ~1 hour when they start getting grimy!

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

I recently learned how to use a round brush to add volume and wave my hair. At first it was challenging but I learned to rough dry and blow dry hair like I normally do. On the last step i section pieces and use the round brush to twist and manipulate the hair and it adds volume. I add dry shampoo and it makes my hair look salon fresh. It took some time to learn what works with my hair cut and type but this has been a game changer. At the end of this process I add Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Volume Texture Spray 8.2 oz/ 340 mL under my hair near the roots and Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium Hold 10 oz/ 330 mL to finish so my hair still has movrment.

A good hair mask from time to time perks my hair right up.

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Hi, beautiful people! 💛

I have mid-back length straight asian black hair with an oily scalp and dry ends. I also have some dandruff from time to time. I'm definitely a dehydrated babe who needs that extra moisture and a some TLC because my hair is very prone to breakage.

Here's my current hair care routine to keep my hair shiny, frizz-free, soft, and healthy:

Before I wash my hair, I’ll use a pre-wash hair treatment. I use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner 8 oz/ 240 mL on my scalp and leave it on for 10 minutes to gently exfoliate and clean my scalp before jumping into the shower.

I’ll saturate my hair with lukewarm water and shampoo my hair with the OUAI Medium Hair Shampoo, focusing only on the roots. It smells amazing! I like to use a silicone scalp brush to massage my scalp as it definitely provides a deeper clean and helps me relax and unwind.

🌟 Tip: Add a few drops of rosemary oil to my shampoo bottle for hair growth and to combat hair loss.

After I rinse off the shampoo, I’ll condition my hair with the Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance™ Conditioner 8.5 oz/ 250 mL and leave it on for 5 minutes. I’ve learned from my hairstylist apply conditioner to my ends first, then bring it upwards (up until you reach your ear) as the hair shaft grows in downward scales. What causes hair to split/break is not properly conditioning the hair.

For some extra TLC and hydrating, I’ll use the amika The Kure Intense Bond Repair Hair Mask 8.4 oz / 250 ml . While I wait for my hair mask, I usually shower the rest of my body and shave to make my time more productive.

After I rinse off the hair mask with cool water, I’ll gently squeeze out the excess water from top to bottom. This is important because this is when hair is the most fragile! Do not squeeze hard and/or twist the hair! Please handle with care!

I’ll pat dry my hair with a microfiber towel and let air dry for about 30-40 minutes, depending on the weather. Microfiber towels are great for absorbing moisture and are known for being gentle on the hair.

Once my hair is about 70% dry, I’ll spray my hair with the OUAI Detangling and Frizz Fighting Leave In Conditioner to lock in the extra moisture and protect my hair from heat damage and comb through my hair with awide tooth comb to equally distribute the product and gently remove any knots. Never use products on your hair when it’s wet and damp, your products will just slide right off.

I’ll blow dry my hair on medium or low heat using a large round brush. Once I’m done, I’ll add some ouai hair oil to my ends as its more prone to dryness and breakage.

If I’m feeling extra fancy, I’ll use COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment to give my hair extra shine. The best part is is that it lasts through multiple washes!

If I’m feeling a bit oily in between washes, I’ll spray my roots with the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Refreshing Dry Shampoo 4 oz/ 113g to fake a hair wash and give my roots some much needed volume.

It’s really important to deep cleanse your hair at least once a week. I’ll use the OUAI Detox Shampoo to remove buildup from hair styling products and dry shampoo and detox the scalp. You can easily make it into a physical scrub by adding course kosher salt or used coffee grinds!

🌟Other tips that I have:

  • Less product is sometimes more, you can always add more product but not take away!
  • Always use a leave in conditioner or hair oil before brushing your hair
  • Use a hair claw clip or silk/satin scrunchies to put your hair up without the damage of hair bands!
  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to prevent frizz and tangles to make mornings easier
  • Wear your hair in a protective style, such as braids or a loose bun, before going to sleep
  • If you’re in a pinch, use face setting powder and a makeup brush in place of dry shampoo.

Hope this helps anyone else dealing with the same issues that I'm having and good luck to everyone! 😘

This Bumble and bumble Bond-Building Repair Hair Styling Cream 5 oz/ 150 mL  is a great heat protector for daily styling. It helps control flyaways and keeps frizz away.

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Silk scrunchies are a game changer for preventing breakage!

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

I’m an Afro Latina and I always struggled with good products. I find that olaplex and all these brands promoted on social media do not work for my hair. Olaplex thinned my hair so much and I still can’t believe that. However things I’ve been doing to bounce back my curls/wavy hair are switching to silk pillow cases & sheets. I oil my hair before washdays and when In protective styles. I do homemade hair mask made with : avocado , mayo, eggs & any type of oil. I use rosemary oil from the brand “ Mielle “. I love their products and am looking forward to trying the morracanoil products. And I also find me sticking to home made and raw products help my hair best. Also RICE WATER! I swear by it.. they sell it on Amazon or even make it yourself. Game changer for sure it just smells a little bit lol but once it’s rinsed off you’re good. #morracanoil #mielle #olaplex #curlyhair #damagedhair #besthairadvice SEPHORA COLLECTION Disposable Mascara Wands

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

The Bumble and Bumble Band-Building line is excellent. I picked up a trial kit on the recommendation of my hairstylist and it really helped hydrate my hair and tame frizz. I also notice that my hair has a shine to it that it didn't before. I repurchased the conditioner and treatment in full sizes and will likely repurchase when I run out!

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Thinning hair is no joke and makes me feel self conscious. So, I routinely massage my hair with a fasciablaster tool while in the shower and then I use the Better Not Younger Wake Up Call Volumizing Conditioner 8.4 oz/ 250 mL .  It's made a difference to my hair.

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Tip #? (I lost track, haha): Always use a detangler before brushing out your hair, especially if you have curly hair. Whenever I forget this step or spontaneously run out my hair definitely has more breakage, split-ends, etc. I love the Not Your Mother's Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter De-Tangler because it's made for curly hair 🙂

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Use a silk pillowcase! It's great for your hair and your skin. My split ends are so much slower to overwhelm me when I sleep on silk or satin. It's one of my staples for hair health. I even travel with one!

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

I have a million hair tips but my top one is using a cotton t-shirt to dry my hair instead of a regular towel! This is amazing for wavy or curly hair and makes your hair beyond soft after a shower!

As far as products go, I owe everything to kerastase and amika products for keeping my hair happy and soft 🙂

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Put a few drops of essential oil, like lavender or peppermint, on your pillowcase to help you fall into a restful sleep, and as an added bonus, your hair will smell FABULOUS too!

Pureology Strengthening + Color Protecting Hair Kit   This is the best choice for protecting your hair after coloring.  Stay beautiful!

Re: Best Hair Ever Sweepstakes: Enter For a Chance to Win One of Fifteen $200 e-Gift Cards!

Hair Tip, you know what's always handy if you have it on hand? A travel sized hair brush 🙂
