Fighting flat iron frizz

I have a ethnic hair (super kinky afro style), but I have my hair cut into a pixie with long bangs. I flat iron the bangs, but I try to avoid flat ironing more than once a week. The first time I do it, on the first day, it's relatively close to what I want. Shiny, straight, and with minimal frizz. However, after that first day, it frizzes out like mad the next day and subsequently there-after.

For reference, here's how I do my hair, and take care of it post-iron. I shower, use L'oreal's EverSleek Sulfate Free shampoo and then Giovanni's "Wellness System" conditioner. I blowdry it straight with BedHead's Control Freak serum, then flat iron with Sexy Straight Hair Power Straight balm. After that I just condition it every day with a leave in spray conditioner from Giovanni. I've tried using the BioSilk silk drop stuff, but all it does is make my hair look shiny. It doesn't even touch the frizz (which is irritating considering I spent $14 on that tiny bottle).

Living Proof makes excellent anti-frizz products.  I'd recommend that you try Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling Jumbo which you can find at:

Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling products offer the first new anti-frizz technology in over 30 years. No Frizz addresses the two causes of frizz—humidity and friction. It provides a superior, extremely thin humidity barrier on hair while reducing surface friction. The result is the most effective, lightweight frizz fighter on the market today. Hair is left smooth and manageable without becoming greasy or heavy.

No Frizz formulas efficiently deliver PolyfluoroEster to the surface of the hair in one even, perfect layer—devoid of any extraneous additives. This advanced styling aid works great on color-treated hair and is terrific for taming highly processed hair. No Frizz also repels dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos.

I hope this helps you.  🙂

I had seen that from another frizz-specific question, but I was hoping I could find a cheaper option. I have a hard time justifying spending $36 on an 8oz bottle of, well, anything, really.
