Dead hair - how to reduce / prevent

The first step to prevent dead hair is heat protection, it doesn’t stop heat damage completely but it helps reduce it significantly while also giving you sleek, shiny hair. My favourites are Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat Protectant Leave In Conditioner Primer 8.5 oz/ 25..., Pureology Mini Color Fanatic Heat Protectant Leave-In Conditioner and the amika amika x HairToStay The Wizard Detangling Hair Primer 5 oz / 150 ml, these all protect around 350° of heat. Another good tio for straightening your hair is LOWER YOUR HEAT!! You shouldn’t be straightening/curling your hair while using over 350° of heat!! Most heat protectants will only protect 350-400° of heat. If you have thin wavy hair I would recommend 250° or less, if you have thick curly hair use 350° no higher. To prevent damage do a weekly hair mask, amika Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask amika The Kure Intense Strength Repair Hair Mask K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Mini Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask 0.5 oz/ 15 mL all help with reducing the look of split ends, dead hair and also will nourish your hair. To make your hair look shiny, glossy and less dead use a hair oil, my current favourite is the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil.
