Cool toned hair

Hi! I recently went to the salon and had my hair toned. It was very orange and brassy and the color she toned it made it cool toned and not as orange. I don’t know if I am imagining it but I washed with purple shampoo and noticed it was a little more orange and warm after my hair dried. Is that possible? Or am I just crazy? What do I use to make it cooler and not warm? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

How recently did you go to the salon and how many times approx have you washed your hair since your visit to the salon?

I went almost two weeks ago! I’ve washed it about 5/6 times since

Toners are only meant to last up to 20 shampoo’s. The “up to” depends largely on the brand your stylist used, whether they skimped on the processing time (every min left on equals one shampoo; if left on 20 mins, you’ll get the toner to last 20 shampoos) and what products you’ve used at home. 
As a society it’s been ingrained to use purple shampoo. You should be using a strengthening shampoo and a colour depositing mask once every 2 weeks at most.
