Bumble and Bumble DeFrizz serum discontinued!!

Help! My favorite Bumble product is apparently discontinued. Any other suggestions out there for a silicon serum to smooth and help with knotting and tangling of hair- specifically underneath the back? I don’t want an oil but rather a serum. I loved that product and am so bummed!

Almost identical product. COMPLETELY fragrance free and same properties as my favorite bumble defrizz!! It took me a year to find, but worth it. Its called: Ouidad - Shine Glaze Serum

I also am disappointed to find that it’s been discontinued because it was the only thing that worked for my naturally curly, frizzy hair in FL humidity. I can’t use anything with oil unless I’m straightening because it does not control the frizz and it weighs it down when curly. 

I just recently found a product that seems similar as it is silicone based and not oil based. It’s called Seaberry Serum for thick to coarse hair. I don’t have coarse hair ( mine is actually fine, thick hair)

but thought I’d try it because I do have the frizzies really bad. It feels similar to the defrizz and is not oily at all. It still lets my hair be curly without weighing it down at all and it does help seal the hair and get rid of frizz.

Oh no! I totally used to use that product, I remember that it was such an underrated product, it worked amazing to tame my frizzy bleached hair.

I suggest the Verb Ghost oil (I am almost out of mine, I have used it so much)

Despite the word oil being in the name Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

Is loaded with silicone.

I really love Bumble and Bumbles Don't blow it cream and their Surf infusion.  I use their invisible oil too but I know you said you don't want an oil.  I hate oils but like this one because its so lightweight so thought I would mention it anyway.

@4n5years  That's always sad when our favorite products are discontinued.  It seems to take so long to find them!

I have the same issues as you- what is it with that back of the hair knotting?  🙂

I don't blow dry my hair, I let it dry naturally.  I live in a hot and humid climate.  Recently I've tried products from two brands that I'd like to mention, because they impressed me.

The first set of products is Olaplex's No. 4 Shampoo and No. 5 Conditioner.  They make a No. 3 Hair Perfector that a lot of people love, but I personally haven't tried it yet.  I received the shampoo and conditioner as a gratis from Sephora, and it worked well to keep my hair untangled after it dried and seemed to keep it clean for an extra day.  I also had less frizz.

I received some samples of Living Proof's No Frizz shampoo and conditioner with their Perfect Hair Day In-Shower Styler.  I thought the three of these worked well together to keep the overall frizz at bay.

Finally, when I use Moroccanoil Treatment lightly, on the ends, it keeps them tangle-free.  I would use this after my shampoo days.  It contains some argan oil, but is mostly made of silicones.

Hello all, I am desperate about this. I have bought two bottles of Defrizz at over $100 on another platform and am stressing out about what to do when I run out again. 

The products suggested here sound awesome but all are scented:

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum - smells like apples per review

Verb Ghost Oil - "and my hair smells good" per review

Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - "intoxicating scent" per review

Any suggestions for an unscented version? I work in an office where perfumes and scents are forbidden because of a coworker with severe sensitivities.

I work hands on as a caregiver for a disabled elderly woman who can not stand any product with "FRAGRANCE" in its ingredients and unfortunately all of the suggested have fragrance. If anyone finds a product like Bumble bumble defrizz, with no fragrances, I'll be so happy to try it! 🙂

I was also sad to hear that it is no longer available. I remember using it for the first time and I was blown away! It was definitely an underrated product. I have also used the Verb Ghost Oil and I finished the bottle! I also recently tried the

OUAI Rose Hair oil and I found that it did not have a strong scent to it. I would also say that the oil is on the thinner side, not as thick as the Verb Oil.

I ended up ordering some samples.  Although the samples are expensive, at least it's cheaper than continuing to buy DeFrizz at $150 a bottle 😞 .

Results so far:

- Bumble and Bumble  Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - basically just an oil.  Hair feels heavy and greasy.  Smells of coconut - a bit like suntan lotion from the 80s!

- Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil - lighter than the above but still basically an oil, mild scent, helps with shine.

- Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum - definitely the closest to DeFrizz. With it, my hair is smooth but also has that separation/body that made me so addicted to DeFrizz. It's like each individual strand floats freely and I can swish it around like a shampoo commercial 🙂 The scent at least isn't floral or aftershave-y or coconut - kind of a fresh scent - but I'm still not sure it won't bother other people.  Thanks @greeneyedgirl107 !

 Next I'll try the Verb Ghost Oil and keep experimenting with the 3 above as well --  I used too much of the Invisible Oil so maybe a lighter touch will help, etc.

@Anonymous Thanks for the update.  I often wonder how people wind up after getting suggestions from BICers.  I'm happy you found some success with the PM Super Skinny Serum.  I know how devastating it is when a product is discontinued.  🙂

Thank you for sharing! I always like trying new hair oils too, my hair is so dry from all of the bleach. I agree with the Invisible oil. My hair is really long and I use about half a pump for just the ends of my hair:)
