Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I haven't really noticed until I started makeup but I have hair that's about the length of my full grown (if I let them grow) on the sides of my face and it makes my skin look darker than it is..

also whenever I pluck them, I get black heads or white heads as a result.

does this mean my skin is weird?

should I wax them?

When I search google for facial waxing, only upper lip situations come up..

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I have peach fuzz on my cheeks and chin. It's not colored (thank goodness!) but the very-white-blonde hair bothers me. I wax because I have the same problem you do when I pluck - I get bumps, acne, or ingrowns as a result. I don't understand fully why waxing doesn't present this same problem (it's the same process, right?)

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Thank you for your opinion

I don't know why mine is the same color as my eyebrows.. its soo every annoying Smiley Sad

how do you wax them?

I've been looking for a facial wax but nothing seems to have a good rating Smiley Sad and since its my first time trying waxing at home I'm kind or scared

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I go to a salon that uses beeswax. Sorry that's not really helpful for at-home use. Smiley Sad

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I have peach fuzz too...it's normal.  For women, the hair is often transclucent, but some women can have darker hairs there.  There are some ladies here who wax it if it bothers them Smiley Happy  I'm too lazy to shave my legs half the time (oops), so I just let the fuzz be.

You can get it threaded too, esp if the hair is a little longer and darker.  It's almost always listed on the price lists at the places I go to get my brows threaded.

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Thank you so much for your advice

I didn't think about threading

would it be better than waxing in terms of time before hair grow back?

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I only get my brows done, but it lasts as long.  The added bonus of threading is that it does not pull or tear at your skin like waxing, so while the hair follicles could get irritated from having the hair ripped out (same as waxing), you don't run the risk of accidentally pulling off some skin and developing hyperpigmentation.

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Thank you Smiley Happy I didn't know that at all

I'm new to eyebrow shaping as well so I really had no idea (I just went to benefit brow bar every now and then)

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

No problem!  If your esthetician uses a hard wax (it sticks to the hair, but not the skin) and is skilled, you probably won't experience skin irritation, but it is really easy to accidentally take some skin off using at home wax strips.

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I should probably start with going to an esthetician and then move on to home waxingSmiley Happy

didn't know there was different types of waxes either.....

but Thank you Smiley Happy

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Think we all have it ;P but I wax, tweeze mine I HATE hair! omg! makes me cringe at the sight of it! No your skin is not weird, its normal we all have it Smiley Happy . Theres face shavers as well! ive used them! but waxing/tweezing helps them not grow back as fast Smiley Happy

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I've heard about it growing back like beard if someone tries to shave them T_T

so I'm scared Smiley Sad

Which wax do you use?

I've been looking for facial wax but they all seem to have low rating and since its my first time trying something out, i'm being super picky and careful

Thank you so much for your advice though Smiley Happy

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I use at home wax strips for the side of my face. They're the kind that has wax between two strips of paper and you heat them up with friction from rubbing your hands together, and peel em apart to reveal the wax surface. They work great for me because it's so easy. You're not alone!

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I have no knowledge about waxes so I never heard about them!

Which one do you use?

I never thought I would be waxing my face.. but I think with beauty, once you start with one thing, its never ending..

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Sorry I didn't see your question.  There are a couple brands but if you look up Sally Hansen Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit For Face, Eyebrows & Bikini Area, they're like that. I think Nair also has some, and I know Bliss has some called Poetic Waxing wax strips for face.  So true, it's a slippery slope. Smiley Wink

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Thank you so much Smiley Happy

I go to school in Canada and the last time I was looking for bleach (for eyebrows), they didn't have Sally Hansen's... so I'll start with either or bliss and see how it turns out Smiley Happy

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I totally understand this - I've considered getting mine done lately. If you know of a decent spa in your area they will probably do it. It's usually listed as "full face" or "cheeks" under the waxing menu. It definitely gets darker as you get older Smiley Sad

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Thank you so much

I didn't know it gets darker Smiley Sad

I should probably get waxing or threading a few times and move on to laser Smiley Sad it makes such a big difference T_T

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I do, too! It's so awkward! I get whitehead when plucking hair on the chin, and lady stache is the reason I hate taking lip pics. And it's kind of embarassing to say, but I don't contour cuz my face is already kind of contoured, partially due to my cheekbone and partially due to my heavier fuzz on the sides. T.T

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

Its super annoying! I don't get anything from plucking hair on the chin, but I get these weird white headish breakouts or blackheads on the sides of my face Smiley Sad I'm wondering it Tria would work.. but then I have to shave it and I would never want it to grow back thicker and darker as a result of shaving..

Re: Am I the only one who has hair on the side of my face?

I pluck the few dark hairs I have on my chin & then use those tiny bikini/eyebrow shaper razors on my face. I go in the direction of hair growth and haven't had any irritation or "growing back like a beard". I think a lot of that is myth, and partially based on genetics. I only need to "shave" my face once a week, but I make sure I don't exfoliate or use toner the day of.

I tried waxing (before I used retinol products) and they always broke me out, same with threading. I think it's due to my pores being so exposed, not sure. Creams would feel like they were burning my face- even the gentle olay one. Smiley Sad So I stick to "shaving" and I haven't had any complaints.
