What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola,

These look and sound so delicious!  Yum!  Bring on the "Buttery Car Wheels!"  The erbazzone looks delicious, too!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola   oh yum!!  Those cookies are very similar to something we eat at Christmas but with jam and walnuts instead of cream! 😋. I wish I could say ours had a fancy name:)

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola I've never heard of erbazzone but oh my gosh, that looks delicious.

Re: What's on your plate?

Omg these look soo good @Skunk12puzzola 👍

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola Those look and sound delicious. I hope you enjoy your Sunday with loved ones!

Re: What's on your plate?

Thanks lovely, you too 💕💗 here in Italy, when we have yummy foods on the table, is always a good day 🤣 @Mellmars1185

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola That spunds like a good day to me! It brings people together.

Re: What's on your plate?

A few meals from the last week.

EDIT: Lemongrass chicken dumplings (not handmade by me), rice and cucumber salad.

Pizza dough hoisin beef, cabbage and onion rolls with a side of bok choy and rice (which in retrospect was probably unnecessary but we weren't sure how filling the buns would be 😅). I added a little too much egg wash and forgot to add the sesame seeds right away, so I'll have to try these again. I normally don't remake meals from my meal ingredient service but this I definitely would send my partner out to get ingredients for.

Curry with sweet peppers, spinach, edamame, onions and toasted coconut.

I also made a nice sun dried tomato pesto chicken sandwich but forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry.

Re: What's on your plate?

My goodness @haleyvvvv 😍 All the dishes look beautiful and delicious 😋. Can I come over?

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, @blackkitty2014!! Of course!!

Re: What's on your plate?

@haleyvvvv All of these meals look delicious! I also had dumplings last night 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, @Mellmars1185!! Dumplings in there many forms are so good!!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 I have a doubt: dumplings and ravioli are the same dish/pasta type but with different names? 🤔 because we have ravioli here, maybe dumplings are the english word for them.

Re: What's on your plate?

Ravioli and tortellini are technically dumplings, @Skunk12puzzola, although I think a lot of people wouldn't consider them as such. "A dumpling is a small mass of soft dough that is boiled, fried, or steamed. Sometimes the dough is rolled out to encase a filling, other times it's formed into a mound and cooked as is. The definition allows for a lot of variety, so there’s bound to be disagreement over what is or isn’t a proper dumpling." A ton of different cuisines have different dumpling varieties.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola The dumplings are in the shape of a half moon. They can be stuffed with anything really. The ones i had were stuff chicken and vegetables . We fried ours, ate them with chop sticks and dipped in a sauce. We had some sushi on the side.

Re: What's on your plate?

Ok, ravioli are with a square shape, so I'm assuming it's not the same. We usually stuff them with meat, and you can eat them with burro e salvia (butter and sage for make them look shiny) or with broth. @Mellmars1185

Re: What's on your plate?

Love ravioli with brown butter and sage, especially stuffed with sweet potato in the fall, @Skunk12puzzola @Mellmars1185 !! Noms.

Re: What's on your plate?

Ok ladies @haleyvvvv @Mellmars1185 , I just had a flash. I remember a recipe where you have ravioli stuffed with pumpkin, and on top sage and melted butter. We do that in fall/winter season 😋🍂

Re: What's on your plate?

@haleyvvvv This sounds like a delicious combination. Like a fall comfort food. Fall is my favourite season 🍂

Re: What's on your plate?

@Skunk12puzzola I have never tried butter and sage with ravioli. That sounds amazing!

Re: What's on your plate?

Yes, those are pretty common here! Melt the butter in a pan. Then you have to pour the melted butter on the warm ravioli, stir them with a few sage leaves. And, at the end, add a little bit of freshly grated parmigiano reggiano on top. @Mellmars1185
