What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

I didn't take a picture but this is the recipe that I cooked today. I had to improvise a little bit but it turned out delicious. It was the second time I made it (I improvised the first as well) and both times it's worked out. It's from What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking

My substitutions today were celery for the fennel bulb, extra maple syrup for the dates, and stuffed Kalamata olives instead of green pitted olives. I also sauteed a red onion along with the celery and the garlic. I didn't make the couscous but the sauce was delicious with plain white rice and roasted veggies. Last time I added mushrooms when sautéing and and that was delicious as well.

Re: What's on your plate?

My parents took me and my brother out to dinner last night for my birthday - I chose a local Mexican restaurant, where we've gone before, that has very good food.

My dinner - blackened salmon street tacos - so good!

and dessert - sopapillas with ice cream (also delicious!), which I shared with my parents.

Re: What's on your plate?

@caitbird I could eat Mexican food every day. Birria tacos are my favorite.

Re: What's on your plate?

We went apple pickin’ - pickin’ from the pre-picked bins at the orchard.😂

Apple pie, apple crumble cake, invisible apple cake.

Re: What's on your plate?

Those look so good @Ispend2much6 !

Re: What's on your plate?

@makeitup305 Thank you!  Two recipes were an experiment; I wish I'd saved the cheaper apples for those.😉

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 what kind of apples do you like to use? I love ones that are a little sour, like Granny Smith or Cosmic Crisp.

Re: What's on your plate?

@makeitup305 Those are excellent choices!  The orchard we went to had those and some I'd never heard of, like Arkansas Black, whose flavor improves with storage.
