Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? ๐
@blackkitty2014 I wish I could easily grow/maintain fruit trees and bushes on my apartment balcony. Iโd much rather be able to step a few feet outside and pick fresh fruit than drag myself out to a grocery store or farmers market. I buy a lot of frozen fruit for convenience, but nothing beats a fresh peach, nectarine, plum, melon, etc. I need to restock my fridge this week.
@WinglessOne Fruit is important. My new favorite fruit is Trader Joeโs passion fruit sorbet. If you like tart flavors you will love it.
@Ispend2much6 Haha, earlier this month I told my doctor โbut [Jeniโs Pineapple Upside Down Cake ice cream] contains chunks of real pineapples and cherries, so that qualifies as a fruit serving, right? Plus, protein and vitamin D!โ ๐คฃ We were discussing my worsening lactose intolerance and the blasphemy notion that I should decrease my cow milk ice cream intake even more than I already have, for health reasons. She said โwellโฆ thereโs always sorbetโฆโ So of course I now have to stock up on Jeniโs Frosรฉ Sorbet. Doctorโs orders! ๐ Next time Iโm at TJโs, Iโll pick up a pint of passion fruit sorbet. Sounds right up my alley!
@WinglessOne That IS truly blasphemous! I always have a good supply of "pizza and ice cream" pills (i.e. Lactaid) on hand.
If you have a Wegmans nearby, their lactose-free chocolate ice cream is actually really, really good. They don't make it, so I wonder which brand it really is.
Hurry to TJ's though; the supply at our store isn't as plentiful as it was when the sorbet first came out. It even has a creamy mouth feel, even though dairy and coconut-milk free.
I wonder if you can charge the Frose to your health savings account...doctor's orders and all.๐
These are homemade? @blackkitty2014 that's really impressive! The color is so vibrant. I love your idea to use up your extras. โ๏ธ๐ With the heat these look extra enticing.
Trying to eat healthier. Food from True Food and Luna Grill on my days off of work.
Those look delicious and still healthy @SportyGirly125 good choices! ๐ฅฌ
Took a trip to a nearby state and visited a location of a bakery made famous in NYC.
It was a fun stop!

@Ispend2much6 We have two Levain locations here and some of their cookies are dangerously addictive, especially the seasonal ones. Their current summer lemon cookieโs not bad, but their fall cookies are fantastic. I hope they bring back the molasses cookie this fall; people love that one for good reason, and theyโre especially great if you get โem right out of the oven. I also loved last winterโs coffee + toffee cookie. Their standard chocolate chip is always a good option though. Hope you enjoyed the two you picked!
@WinglessOne Oh I would have loved the toffee coffee!
The coconut caramel chip one was so good.
And yes they are much better freshly baked than shipped.
I tried one copy cat recipe but it wasnโt the same. I could tell their ingredients, the chocolate in particular, were very fresh. Sigh. Iโll just have to console myself with a piece of plum cake. ๐
@Ispend2much6 Now those are some cookies. I gotta be honest, that bread startled me when I saw the thumbnail scrolling lol.
@Samtian Because the bread was missing a piece? Lol
We had ordered some online for our son before and didnโt think they were worth the money, but fresh they definitely were worth the $4-$5.
I feel like I can almost taste the fresh treats from your pictures @Ispend2much6 oh those look delightful.๐คฉ
@CynthieLu They tasted homemade, but with much better ingredients. Unless youโre like me and somehow justify buying European chocolate in bulk because itโs โcheaper.โ ๐
I can justify a lot of things for chocolate ๐ @Ispend2much6 ๐ซ
