Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
I made a cake using Bob’s Red Mill yellow cake mix.
Their baking mixes are fantastic! The cake mixes only need egg, water, and oil. They are a dense cake, so maybe subbing butter would make them lighter?
The brownie mix is very good also, better than other mixes I’ve used. And the cornbread mix is absolutely the best!
I thought I’d mention Bon Cook/Flexipan silicone baking pans and trays. Everything J bake in those comes out moister than with any other pan. Plus the clean up is easy.
Williams-Sonoma has some on sale now.
Homemade icing- wasn’t aiming for beauty here!
@Ispend2much6 Yummy! I have only tried Betty Crocker cake mixes. If I see this brand, I will try it out!
That's good to know @Ispend2much6. and it looks good too. 😍 I'm going too keep an eye out for these mixes here.
This looks delicious and homemade frosting sounds fantastic ❤️
Yesterday we celebrated my brother's birthday. I forgot I usually make the cake and ordered grocries for cookies instead 😮. He was ok with cookies. From the 100 cookies book these are supposed to be a replica of the Crumbl cookies, except I didn't have food coloring and I added sprinkles cause they expire soon lol. We also had frozen cocoa that was Frozen/Olaf themed.
@Samtian Happy belated Birthday to your brother! Looks amazing!
@Samtian Awe, what a great sister! It all looks delicious! The Frozen themed cocoa looks so fun!
BTW, I've used sprinkles that were 5 years past expiration and they were still fine, lol 😂
Happy birthday to your brother! Those look so tasty @Samtian
Smitten Kitchen's Decadent Hot Chocolate Mix, and Eating Well's Soy-Lime Marinated Tofu (their picture.) My first foray into tofu. And now I have something to mix with the frozen udon noodles in my freezer!
This time I was able to mix it well enough that the chocolate melted easily in the hot milk. I just mixed it long enough with the sugar before adding the cocoa powder.
@Ispend2much6 The hot chocolate mix is probably so delicious. Have you tried mixing it with coffee? Tofu is always great to have prepared to add to meals 😊
@Mellmars1185 I don’t know why but I don’t like that. lol
@Ispend2much6 This is definitely the perfect time of year for cocoa!
I am really super picky about tofu, but yours looks like something I'd like! I just can't stand it when it's too soft or mushy, but yours looks perfect 👌
@Shosh85 Thanks! I think marinating it for 1-2 hours was key. Next time I'll be careful to flip the marinating bag so that both sides absorb the marinade equally.
