Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
@Ispend2much6 I love dips. I havr never tried labneh before. After doing a google search, it sounds delicious.
@Mellmars1185 It is! It reminds me of a cross between cream cheese and yogurt. It's great for making your own dips.
@JoSometimes Okay, but is the pita homemade? I expect nothing less from you. 😂
@JoSometimes You can do it! It’s soooo easy!! It’s like making tortillas! Warning though- once you start making your own you will NEVER enjoy store bought again;)
@heartsmyface @Ispend2much6 Thanks for the vote of confidence! Maybe I’ll look up some recipes. 😊
Bet you could @JoSometimes . Pita are easy. It's a simple dough, rolled into balls, rolled into circles with a rolling pin, then baked at a high heat on a baking stone and they puff up like magic!
@Ispend2much6 It would be fun to try someday. I think it’s more of a patience thing or lack-thereof. I usually taste as I go but with baking, I don’t get to do that. 😅
@CynthieLu They are soo good! Cava is a chain Greek restaurant, and their dips are sold at Whole Foods. Hope you can try them some day!
I made chicken orzo vegetable soup served with a bakery bun. My lovely neighbor gifted me carrots, celery, kale and spinach from her garden and I thought this would be a good way to make use of them. I added some corn and extra carrots that I already had. I made this in my Instapot.
Yay for your neighbor! That soup sounds and looks wonderful!
@tsavorite Thank you! With food so expensive these days, I am truly grateful.
@CynthieLu Thank you. My fiancée said it was my best chicken soup so far 😁
@Mellmars1185 I’m jealous! Is it soup season already for you? Still sweltering here.
@Ispend2much6 It is starting to cool down a bit. I think we have had a couple cool days but it is mostly nice still.
Looks delicious and a perfect meal for the cooler weather we’ve been having @Mellmars1185!
@JoSometimes Thank you! As much as I love summer, there is something about fall and the comfort food that goes along with it that makes me so happy.
