What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Oh my goodness my mouth is watering. Look so good @AznAngelLiz 👍

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz That looks and sounds absolutely amazing. I have not tried butter tortillas before. Are they flakey?

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz I’m still full from dinner earlier, but this picture makes me want to grab some tacos. Yum! 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

Boneless pork chops smothered in onion gravy, on top of of mashed potatoes. This was such a simple recipe but took a while because I had to simmer the pork chops in the gravy for 3 hrs. They were fork tender and so yummy.

Re: What's on your plate?

Ooooh why do I come to this thread when I'm hungry 😅 this looks auh-mazingly delicious. I can just tell how tender and flavourful it would be 🤩 @AznAngelLiz

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz ,

 I'm sold!  This looks like a wonderful dish!  Probably well worth the simmering time.

Re: What's on your plate?

Woah can I come over @AznAngelLiz 😘

Re: What's on your plate?

Yummm, @AznAngelLiz! I haven't had pork chops in forever, but you're making me think I need to put those on the menu soon!

Re: What's on your plate?

@quspork I rarely cook pork, but I saw the video on IG and it just looked so good.

Re: What's on your plate?

That looks amazing @AznAngelLiz! Three hours… They must have just fallen apart! 🤤

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz, I’ve been nursing a cold  & haven’t had much of an appetite but wow, this is making me come around. It looks delicious! 😋 I can never make my pork dishes tender (I have a special knack of making it turn out dry or very dry 😔) so I’m completely intrigued by this - “fork tender” pork sound yummy!

Re: What's on your plate?

If your pork is consistently dry @itsfi ( I imagine you defintley season her with a bit of salt and your preferred spices) you may just be cooking it a smidge to long, if your afraid of it not being cooked throughly you could invest in an affordable meat thermometer and once, at the center, it reaches 145 she's done and ready to eat.  If she's cooking to fast and the inside is raw but the outside is getting over done,  I suggest lowering your cooking temperature. I'm a big fan of 350 oven temp 😉

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you @CynthieLu, will give this a try.

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi ,

Oh, gosh!  May I recommend that you use pork tenderloin!  It is always tender, no need for prolonged cooking.  It's one of my favorites.

Sorry to hear about your cold!  I hope that you will feel better soon!

Re: What's on your plate?

By all means @tsavorite, recommend away!! 😍 Do you prep your tenderloin with a rub or marinade?

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi ,

I don't marinate or use a rub, but you certainly can do that.  I think tenderloin is versatile.  Tender is the key word.

You can bake the tenderloin whole, or cut it into pork tenderloin medallions and cook in a pan on top of the stove.
