What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

 

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

 

"What's on your plate?"

 

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

 

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

 

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

 

For lunch today, I had:

 

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

I had

fried pork with fried potatoes includes a soysauce/garlic sauce

abalones

seafood soup

apple aloe juice

mixed vegetable and scallop porriage

Since I have been on clear liquid diet for a week I was finally able to eat!!!!! We went to a Mongolian Grill soooo good!  To drink I had a watermelon spritzer which is watermelon, pineapple juice and sprite (I spiked it) haha Smiley Happy

Chowing down on my favorite summer snack right now- grilled zucchini with a wash of olive oil and a bit of sea salt.

I just came back from Panera so it was chicken and wild rice soup, their Frontega chicken panini, chips and a strawberry smoothie! Their frozen drinks are 50% for August from 3-5! Whohoo, it's like a Panera happy hour!

Wonderful food today.

- Dark chocolate + strawberry crapes (with a hint of cognac)

- Chestnut crapes

- half gallon of lavender boba tea (ok, not half gallon, but it came in a giant soup bowl cup size, at least 16-20oz.

 

Yumminess.

yesterday I had

honey crunch flakes with 2% milk

fajhita's with all of the awesome Mexican companions

pizza+chips+salad

moose tracks ice cream+homemade cookie and boston cream pie yogurt.

 

LOL talk about a binge! Smiley Happy usually during the week I stick to my favorites like fruit and veg.

OMG, I haven't had Moose Tracks in forever, that was delish when I stumbled on it at the grocery store!

Now that I know this thread exists, I'll be using it to help keep me on track.  Smiley Very Happy

 

So far, I've had one slice of French toast with one scrambled egg, one sausage patty, and one slice of bacon.  The egg & sausage went on the toast for a sandwich, the bacon was savored all on its own.

I encourage everyone to post recipes or ask for recipes too if something someone posts catches your eye! I myself have posted a few recipes complete with photos to show steps!

This morning it's scrambled eggs (from a local farm) with fresh ground pepper.

Scrambled eggs really is the ultimate rock star breakfast. Easy to make & good for your hair. Smiley Very Happy

I have tried organic stuff and all that nice healthy stuff, but for whatever reason sometimes my throat and ears start to itch! Like an allergic reaction. I can't place it because if I add like hot sauce lol it stops?!?! I am just weird!

Eep, sounds like you might just have some type of food allergy or sensitivity. I know that some folks that make a switch over to "healthier" or organic foods (or even alter their diets in general) tend to have a tough time getting a hang of flavors, textures, and tastes, but if you're itching or having a reaction, it might be due to the food itself and not just because you're having to reset your palette.

 

We don't look down on meals here Smiley Happy. Though someone might post something another user may not like, the mood is kept light enough where it's not some personal attack or offense to someone's tastes. I think it's fair to say we have a good grasp on balancing out healthy food posts and super indulgent or junk food posts!

 

What I like to do is to eat flavorful, delicious food. I try to find a good middle ground and make sure whatever I'm eating, TASTES good and IS good for me. For example, if you want to watch your carb intake but crave Italian food/pasta, take a wheat French loaf, slice it up thin, toast them up, rub on fresh garlic, drizzle with olive oil, and top with diced tomatoes, parsley, basil, or even some cooked turkey (lean meat). You can add a touch of fresh cheese and it's a spin on a craving that gets you fresh ingredients and tons of flavor without it being some giant bowl of pasta soaked in canned sauce full of sodium.

 

This is an excellent place to look if you're ever wanting some ideas for recipes!

@lylysa sorry can't reply direct, errors. You are so sweet. Thank you, you guys are super sweet I noticed here. Which is so nice.

 

I think I do have some allergy, which is sucky. I love to eat fruits and veggies. I crave celery and pb a lot, but can't have it, completely kills me.

 

I sure do love food porn, so I will be popping in here a lot Smiley Happy Thank you!
