What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

Wow this looks delicious, @AznAngelLiz! I have never attempted something like this, looks like it took hours. Beautiful!

Re: What's on your plate?

Thanks @eshoe. The most time consuming was the broth because it's supposed to simmer for hours. I made the wontons and prepped the noodles while the broth was simmering away.

Re: What's on your plate?

Well I am going to have to try making some, @AznAngelLiz. I make egg rolls once in awhile but I always use store-bought wrappers. I gotta think getting the right consistency (rolling them out) would be key.

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz Wonton takes lots of time to make. Yours look delicious 😋. Bravo 👏

Re: What's on your plate?

Thanks @blackkitty2014 It was definitely time consuming but I'm extra and the family seemed to enjoy it.

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz you need to post more of your delicious dishes 😘

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014 I will! I love to cook and didn't even know this thread existed 🙂

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz. That looks delicious! I've never had that before- is the idea to make a soup that has the same ingredients as dumplings without having to make dumplings?

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 There are dumplings too, but yes I use pretty much the same ingredients for the soup as what I put in the dumplings.

Re: What's on your plate?

@AznAngelLiz, this looks delicious!! 😍 It's making me crave won ton soup, but yours looks better than anything I might pick up at the nearby restaurants. Yum!

Re: What's on your plate?

From the weekend before - shaken beef with tomato rice

Re: What's on your plate?

I love both of your yummy looking dishes @AznAngelLiz but this one speaks to me! You’re talented! 😋😋

Re: What's on your plate?

@Sunnysmom you definitely can't beat meat and rice 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

Ok this looks yummy too, @AznAngelLiz

Zuppa Toscana results:

Spoiler
It was delicious. I only used 6 cloves of garlic and 4 cups of water vs. the 6 in the recipe because my pan was pretty full. I still found it pretty watery, and since I haven’t tried the original, am not sure how to compare it. It made me wonder if the potatoes should be masked mashed up a bit to make the broth thicker? Lots of good flavor and it’s a cool, windy day so it warmed me up as well. This will be a repeat, thank you for sharing it @blackkitty2014@Ispend2much6

Re: What's on your plate?

@eshoe ,

This looks wonderful, and the Olive Garden version is really, really good!  I hope that you can try theirs some day!

May I borrow some of your willpower?  The salad is good, but oh, the soup!

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, @tsavorite! I wish I could claim it as willpower, but I really just like greens. I  going to try the original someday, though. I still can’t believe I had no idea it existed until now, I have been missing out!

Re: What's on your plate?

Looks terrific @eshoe and perfect for a chilly day! Kudos to @blackkitty2014 too!

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, @Sunnysmom - I never would have tried this had I not seen it here from @blackkitty2014! It was well worth it😋

Re: What's on your plate?

Love that this thread inspires others to try dishes they haven't before! @eshoe @blackkitty2014 💗 Great that you have leftovers too, eshoe.

Re: What's on your plate?

Yes @itsfi; instead of just looking at all of the pretty pictures, I need to hang around for the recipes, too 😉
