What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi @It’s frustrating that we only have 1 fruit per tree. This year my husband was so busy with his work project so the garden got let go but hopefully we will change that next year. We also got a little red meat tree this year and it’s growing. I don’t think our red meat tree will produce until another 2 yrs though

Re: What's on your plate?

I accidentally ordered sesame dressing instead of sesame oil, so I decided to make a Chinese chicken salad.  I bought some sumac recently and decided to try it on the chicken. It has a delicious lemony flavor, not what I was expecting from a paprika-colored spice!

Re: What's on your plate?

Looks very good @eshoe , 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, @Sunnysmom!. Salad is my favorite food, and most of the time I am stuck in a rut with a simple Greek salad. It was fun to try something different for a change!

Re: What's on your plate?

@eshoe  Great idea- looks so good!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 I was annoyed with myself because I needed the oil, so the dressing sat for a couple of weeks. I miss the variety of salads at restaurants so it was a fun experiment!

Re: What's on your plate?

@eshoe Looks really yummy

Re: What's on your plate?

It was good enough to make again for lunch today @SportyGirly125. I think I’ve satisfied that craving now!

Re: What's on your plate?

@eshoe @This looks delicious 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

It was, @blackkitty2014! I was missing the cabbage but red butter lettuce worked just fine. It was kind of a ‘whatever I have on hand’ salad, in a way.

Re: What's on your plate?

These spices look really good; I haven't tried them yet but I will soon.  @blackkitty2014 This is the company I was trying to remember a few weeks ago.  @Sunnysmom  have you heard of them?

Re: What's on your plate?

Sorry @Ispend2much6 @where did you get these again? They look good. Edit; I found their website. Checking them out now. Thx you 🌹🥰

Re: What's on your plate?

I’ve had sumac on kabobs etc @Ispend2much6 but not a specific spice company? Have you? I love love sesame oil. Been my summer salad obsession with rice vinegar! Lol

Re: What's on your plate?

@Sunnysmom  Oh brother, I didn't attach a photo.

Re: What's on your plate?

 Ha oh I see which ones now @Ispend2much6 . I do not have any of those. They look good. I’ll look them up also thanks!

Re: What's on your plate?

Still working on the eggplant dumpling parm recipe.  I made the filling today, and did not feel like making the dumplings and frying them.  So, I hope that baking them in a muffin tray with a little olive oil will do the job.

Re: What's on your plate?

That looks fun and healthy too @Ispend2much6 , will be good to hear how you like it!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Sunnysmom   Unfortunately, I couldn't eat it, but the rest of the fam liked it!  And, baking the filling worked like a charm.  I think I need to do that with meatballs too; make "meat patties?"  Flat meatballs?  What should I call them?

Re: What's on your plate?

Parm pattie lings, dumplatties @Ispend2much6 ?! 😳😂 Glad the gang liked em but too bad you couldn’t :(.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Sunnysmom  I vote for "parm pattie lings."  🙂  Thanks- I didn't suffer though; I had hot bread and butter and fruit. 🙂

Re: What's on your plate?

Agree @Ispend2much6 , that’s 2 for that one. 😊 Yup, warm bread and butter. Yes please. Watching Giada and Bobby Go to Italy and now I want to go there and just eat… anything. 😂
