Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
@Ispend2much6 Ceviche: you can substitute cook shrimp or grilled chicken. I haven’t substituted grilled chicken but I think it’s just as good. We did a while lots of cooked shrimp in the past since my husband doesn’t like raw stuffs 😘
@blackkitty2014. That looks so delicious and healthy! Thanks!
when you get down to the dredges of your cucumbers you could always try.
English cucumber sandwiches wheat toast slices w a thin spread of cream cheese ground sea salt & fresh dill
and or you could also throw a little into a caprese salad.
@WhereYouStand Now there's an idea! I should serve it with English Breakfast tea. 🙂 I wonder if all of my dill has seeded or if I have some left...
Have you ever made panzanella? I did once, but failed miserably. That would be easy too. If you have a failproof recipe I'd love to have it! Thanks!
@Ispend2much6unfortunately I have never tried Panzanella or even heard of it until just now. I had to google it, it both looks and sounds tasty. I would totally pass a recipe for it sideways if knew of one. I think a good cup of tea would be excellent with cucumber sandwiches!
Avo cuke tomato corn is one of my fav summer salads @SportyGirly125 @Ispend2much6 ! Can’t go wrong!
@SportyGirly125 Oh my, I love these ideas! Thank you! I never thought of matching cukes with avocado, but I'll definitely try it! And we are growing basil too.
@Ispend2much6 I tried making both because I had cucumbers and I really liked them.
Speaking of sweets (and nothing like blackkitty’s 😂), have you guys “made these” from Whole Foods frozen - Levain Bakery frozen cookies?!! They are just amazing. Like the real deal. What I wouldn’t give to have them again in NYC, you luckies! Breakfast anyone?!
Also a healthier little treat I brought to the first little neighborhood gathering! Just mozzarella, basil and baby heirlooms. Didn’t drizzle the balsamic/ olive oil until right beforehand. Easy peezy.
@Sunnysmom @I found them at my Whole Foods so I picked up a box. They also had the walnut one.
Oh yummy I’m glad @SportyGirly125 ! How were they?! Mine didn’t dry out at all by the way. They kept in a baggie very well for days! @Ispend2much6 what did you put yours in?
@Sunnysmom @Ispend2much6 @my husband and son had them today. They said they were too sweet and liked my almond chocolate chip cookies better 😊 that’s a huge compliment
@SportyGirly125 Aww, that's so sweet! Nothing like a fresh cookie.
Cookies are definitely a personal preference thing @SportyGirly125 , so glad they loved yours. I imagine the almond flour made yours less sweet? I would like those too. I prefer dark chips to temper them being too sweet but I did not complain about the bites I had of the Levain!
@Sunnysmom @The one I made didn’t have sugar. It was sweetened with a little maple syrup. Also, I didn’t use butter. I used coconut oil.
I need to try them sometime @SportyGirly125 , they sound very good!
@Sunnysmom. I think we baked them too long. No need to store i cookies over here!
😂 true @Ispend2much6 ! I think I only re-heated them maybe 4-5 min once I realized they were already baked bec I was worried about it! I could use one about now!
@SportyGirly125 We had the walnut ones. I thought they were going to be cookie dough because they were frozen, but I liked that there were options for eating them- just thawing them at room temperature, or heating them. They will overheat quickly and dry out, fyi.
