What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

I have never made one @itsfi . If you have an easy fool recipes would love to have you share it with us! Yummy, they really are a taste treat and @SportyGirly125‘s pretty pic made me hungry for one! 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014 I kept saying the same thing. There was a new shop that opened up close to my house last year. I kept passing by it everyday and told my husband I should try it. He has already tried acai bowls years ago when it was really popular. So after I got my COVID vaccine I decided to try it just to see what the craze was about.  It’s definitely better than eating a piece of cake or ice cream.

Re: What's on your plate?

This isn't my prettiest dish, or the healthiest (at all,) but it was easy and a nice, homey way to end the weekend before a crazy week.

Aldi (love!) had their German week a couple of weeks ago, when they import and feature foods from Germany.  I put a box of pork schnitzel in a dish, topped it with chopped zucchini and roasted mushrooms, and mixed a Knorr sauce packet mix with light cream, poured on top, and baked. We ate it over egg noodles.  No German desserts though, as we ate those soon after I bought them. lol

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6, an easy, nice and homey dish sounds good to me. 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi   Me too.  I'm afraid I've been cooking too many of them during the pandemic, as even my skinny husband has put on some weight.   Back to more veggies and less noodles!

Re: What's on your plate?

More veggies is good with me @Ispend2much6, but does “less noodles” mean no noodles or just not as much? 😲😆

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi  Definitely not "no" noodles. 🙂  A life without noodles would be a very sad life.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6, I’m feeling much better hearing that. 😆

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 I’m pretty sure your family is disappointed that no German chocolate cake to go with it 🤣😂 Delicious 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014. I think I am sensing that you are in a chocolate mood- not that there is anything wrong with that.

Re: What's on your plate?

My husband requested a cake with extra frosting.

Re: What's on your plate?

I need a piece to test out whether it’s that delicious 🤣😂😘 Don’t hit me with the frying pan @Ispend2much6 🌹

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014. If only there was a safe way to ship gooey cakes...😉

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 my teeth hurt just LOOKING at that frosting! 😂

Re: What's on your plate?

@CookieGirl1  That's exactly how it felt!!!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 Woah!!!! I thought that was the pound cake layer at first but wow he sure likes his frosting.

Re: What's on your plate?

@SportyGirly125   You have no idea!  When single he used to eat frosting from a tub.  He refrigerated it to make it seem like fudge.

And you know what?  He's skinny, and his health markers (labs) are stupendously good.  Must be the oatmeal he eats every morning and regular exercise for years.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 My doctor who also has a little diet plan biz on the side told me that eating the frosting was the better idea vs the cake. 🤔 the ‘good’ fat?! Doubful!! Lol.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Sunnysmom  Not homemade icing!  Maybe it's lower in carbs?  Who knows.

Re: What's on your plate?

I think that is it @Ispend2much6 because it’s a lower carb based plan! Works for me. Tho I wouldn’t want just frosting of course. Because , balance in all things. 😬ha

Re: What's on your plate?

@SportyGirly125 @Ispend2much6  Same here. Looks delicious, though!

It reminds me of a friend who bakes cakes, frosts them "normally," and then puts extra frosting in a bowl for his husband, who loves frosting so much he dips cake/brownies/cookies/etc. into it while eating. 🤣
