What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

@quspork They really tasted yummy.  My husband had one and he liked it.  My son loved watching me make them.

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014 I watched 2 youtube videos to learn how to make them and then attempted it today.  It wasn't too bad.

Re: What's on your plate?

I wanted to broil Alaskan king crab legs for Christmas dinner, since that’s been my family’s traditional dinner for years and I couldn’t be with them this year. But I decided to avoid crowds and stay out of grocery stores last week. Besides, I already had most of the necessary ingredients for the next best Christmas meal: shrimp and cheese grits.

Whenever I visit my parents, we dine at a certain Louisiana-themed restaurant and I always order this dish.Whenever I visit my parents, we dine at a certain Louisiana-themed restaurant and I always order this dish.
I didn’t have andouille or chorizo on hand, but ground meat was a workable substitute. (The “meat” I used this time is Gardein Meatless Ground.) I sacrificed a can of Half Acre Big Hugs (coffee stout beer) and my last 2 habaneros to make the sauce. I cooked a ton of the shrimp + “meat” + veggies so I could make leftover meals throughout the week. I don't make this dish often enough, though I do frequently make cheese grits and top them with various other things. Anyway, it was nice to have a reminder of family time this holiday season.

Re: What's on your plate?

Oh man @WinglessOne that looks just amazing. What a fun tradition especially for this year too! I think I am getting the aroma now. 😋
