What’s in your cup?

A companion thread to What's on your plate?

I thought it would fun to share what we’re all drinking. It could be your favourite tea or show of your crowd pleasing cocktail recipes. What’s in your cup?

Right now, I’m enjoying a nice cup of ginger peach tea with milk and honey. It’s nice and calming before bed.

Spoiler
And shout out to the original thread  I kinda found out too late about this and it’s been far too long since it was updated.

Basic things that bring joy, a hot PSL 🎃

I don’t have too many of these because they’re so loaded with sugar (a grande has somewhere around 12 tsp!!) and my skin responds terribly to too much, but it’s such a lovely Fall treat 🧡

Re: What’s in your cup?

I feel you on that sugar issue @bakeamuffin! I used to do extra pumps in things when I was younger. Now I ask for half sweet everything.

Re: What’s in your cup?

I know what you mean @bakeamuffin .  I just checked on the nutritional info of my usual, the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.  It has 12 g sugar (3 tsp,) for a grande.  But 10 g of additional carbs from the oatmilk.

I saw that Starbucks has "at home" recipes for some of their favorites online!  Sounds like something fun to try.

Re: What’s in your cup?

Oh I am going to try the brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso you mentioned @Ispend2much6, that sounds delightful!

thank you for finding that recipe for me, that certainly is fun to try! Saving that!

Re: What’s in your cup?

Fall is here! I haven't had pumpkin spice latte drink for some time but it has always signaled fall for me when I see in cafes and in people's hands. 🍃🍂🍁 Will have to pull out my pumpkin spice candles @bakeamuffin

Re: What’s in your cup?

Nothing sets the ambience better @itsfi , great idea!

Re: What’s in your cup?

A pick me up during a day of walking around New York City.

Cacao Blueberry.jpg

I was in New York for a couple of days before Sephoria and spent one of them walking all over the city. At one point, I was all tuckered out and needed a pick me up. I couldn't find this particular drink on the company's online menu and wonder if it was a seasonal item; regardless, it was good - I don't know all the ingredients but the ones I do remember are blueberries, chocolate, cacao nibs, almond milk, almond butter, dates. Actually, that might have been everything in it, possibly a banana as well.

Re: What’s in your cup?

What a delightful looking drink! It sounds like it has the right ingredients to power you up for some NYC walking and sight seeing @itsfi !

Re: What’s in your cup?

It came at the right time @bakeamuffin! Need to try to recreate this one. 😋

Re: What’s in your cup?

@itsfi Chocolate and blueberries are a surprisingly yummy combo! This looks so good!

Re: What’s in your cup?

Right @JoSometimes?! I forget about this combination but the pairing is well matched. I'm adding this smoothie to my list of ones I want to try to recreate at some point.

Re: What’s in your cup?

That sounds really good, @itsfi ! 😋

Re: What’s in your cup?

@Titian06, it was so good and just what I needed. At the time, I had spent pretty much the entire day walking around the city and had planned on doing the same back to the hotel but I was tiring (and getting hungry) quickly  so this hit the spot! I may try to remake it, but I am pretty sure it will not come out as tasty as this was.

Re: What’s in your cup?

@itsfi - If you figure it out, please share! 🙂

Re: What’s in your cup?

Will do @Titian06. Eatingbirdfood (dot) com has a recipe that looks good; their pic of their chocolate blueberry smoothie most closely resembles the one I had in NYC. Their recipe includes kale and spinach, which I don’t recall being in the one I had, but I like both veggies and am not opposed to including them in a smoothie. I may get to start trying to recreate it sooner than planned. 😊 Now I just have to find where to get dates around here…

Re: What’s in your cup?

@itsfi - I can usually find dates at the health food store.

Re: What’s in your cup?

Found some at Trader Joe’s @Titian06. I’ll go back in a few weeks to pick up some dates and try my hand at the cacao blueberry smoothie.

Thank you @Titian06; I have made a note of that. 🗒
