What companies have you gotten samples from?

I just wanna ask what companies give out free samples when you contact them. I only know of Mario Badescu and L'occitane. Smiley Happy

Who doesn't love free samples anyway? Smiley Happy

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Wow! That's amazing. What have you tried and liked/disliked?

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I haven't tried any of the Vbeaute because I gave it all to my Mom. I'm not really into anti-aging stuff at 20. She also got the darker color of the Jane Iredale Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder.

I'll do the Murad first. I love the Pore & Line minimizing Hydrator. I's a good moisturizer for combination skin I think. It has just enough to fix the dry areas without turning you into a greasy mess and you don't need much. The Essential-C cleanser I've used about half the bottle. It's a decent cleanser when it comes to removing makeup and not over drying your skin. I haven't noticed it really doing anything else. The Acne and Wrinkle reducer I used for about two weeks. Again there was nothing bad about it and it seemed to help keep my skin clear but I have several similar products to it that do the same thing at a lower price point. The post acne spot lightning gel I think helps with acne. It seems to help return the color of fresh dark spots from acne much quicker. I really doubt it would do anything amazing to any old discolorations or freckles as I have very light freckles and it did not change them one bit (I like mine though so I'm glad it didn't do anything). I've used most of these products fairly frequently for a month so I think this is at least a decent review. They have some good products and some ok ones as well. The Acne Spot lightning gel and the Pore & Line Minimizing Hydrator may be worth a look for some people. The other two are alright, but unless you just love Murad they wouldn't be at the top of my list.

Ren is next. I was fairly disapointed with the BB cream. It is completely clear when applied, it has no coverage and barley leaves any hint of color on your skin (I'm really pale btw). It really helps minimize pores, give some sun protection, oil control, with some skincare benefits. It is similar to the Miracle Skin Transformer in Translucent. Good for a minimalist who just wants some basic skincare bad for anyone who wants to use a BB for their main face makeup in place of a product like foundation. I still see uses for it and will occasionally use it, but it's not exactly what I thought it would be. The Invisible Pores Detox Mask is interesting. I've tried it a few times it really makes your pores disappear and helps give you a face that looks almost photo shopped. Unfortunately it's a temporary thing as your face will return to normal by the next day. It would be a good thing to do if you were getting all dressed up for something. It may help clean your pores out a little but nothing astonishing. The Mayblossom T-zone Control Cleansing Gel is just a gentle face wash and seems to keep the oil at bay a little. It's an average non-irritating morning cleanser at best. The Glactic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask has instant results. Really good for dull skin and probably my favorite product out of my Ren samples. I like it when a product does what it say's on the package.

I'll review the Jane Iredale, Koh Gen Do, OH, and Mario Badescu later as I have to be somewhere right now!

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Today in the mail, I received a sample of the Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream. I think I filled out a form on Facebook to receive it. It's the same size as Sephora would give out for 100 points (the same size as the Greek Yogurt Sleeping Facial 100 point sample was). I am not really into floral scents (aside from roses) and this sample came at the perfect time as my normal moisturizer (The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream) has almost run out and I am returning the Origins GinZing Moisturizer because my skin broke out (not sure if that was the cause) but my face is on the dry side at the moment (I don't have sensitive skin, never break out, and have near perfect skin so to get some sort of rash on my face and body is puzzling to me).

So, getting this sample was a blessing Smiley Happy

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I decided to do the survey again (for my address in Canada) and got slightly different results than last time.

Enzyme Cleansing Gel, Aloe Lotion, Hyaluronic Eye Cream, Flower & Tonic Mask, Hydro-Moisturizer With Vitamin C, Drying Lotion, and Strawberry Face Scrub (everything is the same except the Aloe Lotion and Flower & Tonic Mask as last time, I got recommended Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and Special Mask For Oily Skin). Oh well, still excited to try everything.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I got my Mario Badescu today. I'm unsure and wonder if they will send me two things of samples. I filled out the survey twice because the first time they never answered me. The second time they responded right away and said I should be getting samples. However two days after that they responded to my first questionnaire (which I filled out in detail so I got different results). I'm going to give it a few days and see if another packet doesn't arrive in the mail. As of right now I have

-Ceramide Eye Gel

-Collagen Moisturizer (SPF 15)

-Enzyme Cleansing Gel

-Flower & Tonic Mask

-Seaweed Night Cream

-Special Cucumber Lotion

-Strawberry Face Scrub

What I was recommended to get on the first one. Only two things are the same so it would be nice if they sent me this one as well!

-Enzyme Cleansing Gel (same)

-Special Cucumber Lotion (same)

-Hyaluronic Eye Cream

-Aloe moisturizer SPF 15

-Drying Mask

-Healing & Soothing Mask

-Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

-Drying Lotion

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

i did it twice too and never heard back from them Smiley Sad

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Well today I got free samples from Murad. They sent me two foil packs. One is for Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moister for eyes and the other is Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for face. They also send me a 1.5 oz Essential C cleanser. I guess I cannot complain about free samples but it is funny how they send some people more than others. They also send a coupon for 20% off and free shipping from Sept 19 - Oct 9. Promo Code = EVENT.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Just so all your ladies know, Dr. Brandt sends out samples! Smiley Very Happy

They sent me about 8 samples, all things i'll be happy to try, but it looks like two of the samples busted Smiley Sad But they were my least fav things out of the bunch so it's okay! Smiley Very Happy

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Thanks for telling us. How long did it take for you to get a reply?

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I think it took around 3 business days before I got a response.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

L'occitane will send you samples if you contact them? Really? That sounds awesome!

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I just got an immediate yes from L'occitane.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I received my 6 samples from Mario Badascu.tumblr_mu29uh9VaW1rhbyawo1_500.jpg

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

So are you guys just sending an email via the brand's websites and straight up asking for samples? I took the Mario Badescu survey but it doesn't offer samples, did you guys just email them and ask after taking the survey?

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

You take the survey and Mario Badescu will email you asking if you want samples. If you fill it out and explain your problems they have to follow up with you directly and it will take much longer for them to respond to you. Most of these you just email the site in the appropriate place, all of them are different.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I sent out e-mails last night. I got yeses from L'Occitane, Marc Jacobs, Jane Iredale, Murad, Living Proof, Mario Badescu, Dr. Hauschka, Nia24, Juice Beauty, vbeauté, and Ren (just gave them my address so don't know yet if they ship to US but I can give a friend in the UK address if I need to).

No from Smashbox and YSL (these were ones I tried because I actually wanted to buy something but nowhere carries their fairest shades by me to see if they would work. It's hard to pick a foundation if you can't try a sample in your shade.).  Dr. Brandt said no but only for the specific line I asked about.

I did try to ask about specific products in my e-mails and explain what I currently use and what I'm looking for.  Not sure if that hurt or helped me, but just in case other people are wondering what I might have said that might have worked or not worked.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

If I remember correctly, the Ren samples came from New Jersey or somewhere on the east coast.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Thanks. I just got a your samples are on their way message from them.  I only wondered because the e-mail response was a UK address.  But they said yes :-)

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I was wondering the same thing when I got the e-mail.  I got Ren & Vbeaute on the same day.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I sent ones to L'Occitane, Marc Jacobs, Dr.Hauschka, Nia24, and Juice Beauty last night. I still need to email Living Proof as that is the only one I haven't done yet. Instant yes from L'Occitane and Dr.Hauschka. Still waiting on the others. I also got a yes from Dr.Brandt which I emailed several days ago.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

New yeses today from Paula's Choice and Red Flower :-)

The only bad thing about this is that I know I'm going to fall in love with so many things I absolutely have to buy!
