Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

I can think of several really stupid things I have ran into lately that irritate me to death.

For starters I had to yell at my teenage male cousin one time for drawing with the lipsticks on the displays. Then he wondered why I yelled at him. I was like, really? I have to tell you at age 14 not to draw all over things like a preschooler. That's pathetic. I see it all the time at different stores with various items. It makes me mad. Not only have you probably ruined a perfectly good lipstick but you made a mess for one of the poor old ladies in Walmart to have to clean up. Instead of going in Walmart to "play" go outside or actually do an activity. Better yet read a book.

Another thing that bugs me is when people swatch things that aren't testers. I don't mind if you open it, but don't rub your hands in it. If it's a pump or something you can dispense and swatch I could care less. It's happened to me a few times that their was only one left of what I wanted, only to open it and notice someone had destroyed it.

Finally people who leave nasty little notes in the makeup isle. I found one wrote on a posted note and stuck on one of the displays. It said something along the lines of "Inner beauty is more important". O.k. I get that, it's not like I don't think it's important. However for someone to go out of their way, write out a note, and post it in the makeup isle is obnoxious. I could care less that you don't like makeup but to take the time specifically to do that is annoying. My boyfriend instantly started making fun of it (with things I won't repeat). I was just like what good will this do? All it will do is make some pre-teen feel like they are doing something wrong for wearing a little bit of makeup to boost their confidence. It was very insulting from the tone of it.

Feel free to post your own.

They still have to answer to the MD though. So if he's a pain she can't do but so much.

Most Nurse Practioners don't have to answer to doctors after a  certain point their pretty much on their own, but Physician's Assistant's have to answer to doctors for the things they do. Also I just wanted to add the doc I work for now is nothing like the last one I worked for.

So sad but true!

Re: Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

I've had the opposite happen where doctors are surprised I know what the "big word" means. My Mother reads lots of medical stuff, and often makes me read certain articles as well (she's been doing this since I was probably 10). I'm sure I don't know everything but they act like you know nothing.

It was auto correct or something. I fixed it. Thank you for telling me.

Re: Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

Oh this is the biggest pet peeve! Wal-Mart is the worst about people testing lipstick and other beauty products. Oh!! You don't go down the chip isle and open the bag and test it, don't do it in the beauty isle.  But I can't just bash the Wal-Mart shoppers, I was

In the mac store and walked passed a lady applying lipstick in the mirror-didn't think much of it till she turned around and placed it back in the  holder of testers. Aaahhhhhh and eeewwwwww.  she calmly walked out of the store like it was no biggie. I must be a germ freak because I would never ever share a lippie. A swatch on my hand is gross enough for me.

Rant over.

Re: Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

I'm the same way!  Even if someone had *just* opened a new item to use for a tester for me, I'd *still* put it on the back of my hand, because I'd hate for the person after me to have to deal with ickies.

Re: Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

I was at Sephora the other day just looking around and noticed a couple by me. The boyfriend kept grabbing lipsticks and putting them directly on the girl's lips and then jokingly says that he was so sorry and that she probably has Herpes now. GROSS.

Re: Things that make you mad in the makeup isle

here in satan's diaper they do open the chips, the donuts, the candy, you name it - they will even walk around the store eating stuff while holding the bag - then they sit the bag down some place it does not belong before checking out! don't get me started on what these people wear to funerals or weddings, but you can imagine the fashion and beauty!

Along with everything that everyone else has mentioned, I hate when people move around testers so that the wrong shade is in the wrong spot, you can't always read the name on the tester itself :/ I always put them back in the correct place if I notice this haha.
