The holidays are going to be strange this year. Many people, including myself, are unable to celebrate with family or simply the way they want to. On the news this morning they were discussing that many people are decorating early because they feel they need cheer. I put my tree up a couple days ago. I was thinking it would be nice to see other people's decorations and spread the cheer. I am NOT just talking about Christmas. I consider myself mostly Jewish but grew up celebrating many holidays and have a Christmas tree of my own. So no pressure in terms of holiday or religion. Whatever you want to share. I finished putting the details on my tree today.
Oh my goodness. This is awesome @CarolBT Love ❤️ love ❤️ 💕
@CarolBT I'm assuming the back is licorice? I love black licorice, and have many friends that do, as well. I foresee a BIC challenge for 2021!
YES!! Black licorice, white chocolates, red gummy ring, red cinnamon candy, and shredded coconut! @greeneyedgirl107 @tsavorite
🙋🏻♀️ me too you guys! @greeneyedgirl107 @Titian06 Funny. I still like Panda is it?! ( also good for calming adrenals I have heard?! 🤷🏻♀️)
@Sunnysmom I think there is a Panda brand. I've gotten my sister their red licorice. Do you drink licorice teas? I adore Yogi Egyptian Licorice. Aveeda's Tea The is another good one - price for my taste. though. Choice makes another decent one, but I think sometimes the mint in it is a bit much for me. I don't like the Stash licorice tea, though.
Yup @greeneyedgirl107 I have a bag right now. A challenge not to eat too much, thankfully a little goes a long way! Lol I’ve read it can raise BP so that’s something for us all to note. I haven’t had Yogi yet but I will get some as I’ve seen it. Is Aveda tea the wonderful one they give you when in store? Man that’s good if so. I also really like a blend by Clipper- have you had that one? So good with lemon in it also if you like that, Main Squeeze I think it’s called. Agree on Stash. Nope.
@greeneyedgirl107 - I love black licorice too! 💖💖💖
@Titian06 Do you have a fave black licorice? The Trader Joe's brand used to have a VERY good one, but that was years ago.
@greeneyedgirl107 @Titian06 Sugarfina sometimes carries one from Holland, I believe, and it's really good! They also have a tan and white colored one that's good but I don't remember where it's from. I like that lightly salty licorice.
@Ispend2much6 I bet that brand would do an excellent black licorice!!! I will have to check it out. I like how it calms my stomach. I could use some right now!
@greeneyedgirl107 You and me both- have had bad reflux for eight weeks; it's finally calming down. Peppermint sticks seems to help me, as well as fresh ginger tea (chop a little ginger and add boiling water and honey. Let it sit for a few minutes, drink, and eat the ginger.) I hope you feel better soon!
@Ispend2much6 Thanks for the well wishes - I'm sorry that I didn't respond earlier but I'm quite behind on my e-mail -- and everything else! I have gastroparesis (aka delayed gastric emptying) so my stomach is often acting up. Drinking 2-3 cups a day of licorice tea used to really help it, but at my current job (where I've been for 5.5 years) I have no time at all to drink even one cup. I hate how busy I always am at work, b/c my health does get affected. Anyhow, I'm not a ginger fan, but I think I will try your tip. It's worth a shot, and is probably better than a tea bag.
Agree @Ispend2much6 , the minute almost I have ginger tea it really helps. And for flying issues etc too. Do cookies count... 🤔 lol. Glad you’re feeling better!
@greeneyedgirl107 - No, I don't. I'm the only one I know who likes black licorice. People always give me their black licorice, so I usually don't have to buy it! 😄
@Titian06 LOL! I actually worked with a couple girls years ago that liked black licorice. We took turns buying different ones. It was fun.
Finally remembered to take a couple of pics of some of the indoor décor, so here are the trees and the village.
The main tree that gets all of the yearly, travel, and gifted ornaments
The pig tree because... duh
And the upstairs tree which has our old childhood ornaments and some antique ones I inherited from my grandmother
We also do a whole village set up in the living room
With closeups of my favorite sections - Scrooge and the three ghosts
And the Griswolds. Including Eddie in his bathrobe emptying the RV, Todd and Margo out for a jog, and dear Aunt Bethany with her jello mold ready to launch into the National Anthem.
