Just want to congratulate anyone who has ranked up recently. I was busy with work and life in general over the past week, and I have found if you're not on top of the heart parties — it's near impossible to catch up! Lol!

Thought you guys would enjoy this. Currently sitting up in bed trying to relax.. Tonight was our back to school night. SO ANYWAYS... This year I earned a grant for a free full digital subscription to The NY Times for both my students and their families.

Long story short, in each class period tonight  (at back to school night) I presented a short slide presentation about the class and myself to the parents.

So how did I set up the idea that I was giving all the families who attended the gift of a free NY TIMES SUBSCRIPTION??? ($17 a month in savings btw!!!) With the OG of wayback in daytime tv:

They loved it by the way!!!’

I know long story but totally worth it, right! (And the parents not only got the pop culture reference, they even laughed!) 😋

As someone who has worked in newspapers for far longer than I would like to admit, I thank you for your enthusiasm for the hard work that reporters perform. With very few exceptions, the people I've known in newspapers are some of the smartest, well-informed and hardworking around.

Any idea how many emails I had to page through to find this thread again??? (I'll be glad when my home page starts working properly again). 

Anyway, not important because I received the sweetest, most delicious Unicorn mail of all time!  Not to mention the perfect timing as things have been especially hectic of late.   Thanks for sending the yummiest mail alive @veronika23, you're the best and I can't wait to try out all of this Canadian goodness 😘😘

I had an employee who was originally from Australia and one day we were talking about Smarties. These were the ones I had growing up

She brought her version of Smarties to work one day because I had no idea another kind existed. These were like M&Ms to me 🙂

Yes @HookedOnBeauty2!  I did a double take when I opened the package.  Tasted some today, different for sure; the outer shell reminded me of a cross between M&Ms and Skittles.

@HookedOnBeauty2@ElleElleG  The US smarties are called rockets in Canada.  I prefer our smarties over M&M and definitely over the rockets (aka US smarties)... not a fan of those 😄
