A few of us were interested in a swap board on Beauty Talk. Since Sephora chose not to respond to this, we thought it would be agood idea for those people who were interested in swapping with each other to use MUA as a forum for this. If you have an MUA username and are interested in swapping with your trusted Beauty Talk friends, please list your Beauty talk username followed by your MUA user name like this!

I got a probabtionary membership to SwapTawk because I got swaplifted.  Otherwise you have to have 20 tokens.  So far I'm not finding it to be as helpful as rumored.

Earlier in this thread Katie1724 mentioned that after a certain numer of swaps (I think it's 25 tokens)  you cna be part of swap lifter  watcher site that watches MUA for lifters. They also post a list of all of the verified swaplifters. Maybe you can PM Katie1724 and ask her about it!

I've only done one successful swap because I get so many silly "Wanna swap?" requests from people who have nothing I want. 😞

 Who would've thought that I'd go to get a degree in Criminal Justice to be a Fraud Investigator, and that I'd end up investigating fraud against myself while a stay-at-home mom.  It's almost funny!

Well, we could try trading with one another and rack up some tokens. I'm kind of surprised that people actually make offers to me even when I had 0 tokens (the 1 token is from Kalex, lol). There's a manual somewhere that advises newcomers to MUA trade only with the more senior members of the community to keep from being swaplifted, but I suppose the seniors might be afraid that we are the swaplifters.

I'll be happy to trade with any of you ladies, so have a look through my list, read my notepad, and send me a message and I will not ignore you! 😉

Maybe it's rude but I do ignore the ones who can't spell and obviously can't read. I just cannot be bothered.

Maybe if any of us on here think someone on MUA might be a potential swaplifter we should post there name so they don't go around to all of us stealing and we can deny their swap right away??

I'm so sorry that all of this has been going on! This is why I wanted a swap board on beauty talk and why I suggested only swapping with each other!

Many people on MUA won't bother to answer you if you haven't read their notepad/wishlist and have something that they want. I always write back even if it's obvious that they ignored my notepad, just because I hate it when people don't anwer me. I can see where it would get annoying enough that people woulsn't bother to answer, though.

Oooh "Farashi" swaplifted prettyinpa too!  That's 4 of us now.  I'm going to see if I can post somewhere on MUA to see if there's any others. 

The "powers that be" can't let it slide if enough of us file against her.  I contacted my local PD today and the officer I spoke with said she can be arrested for "Theft by Deception," so I filed a report and am going to have it forwarded to the Edmonton, Alberta police department.

People do have such bad manners!! I think my no token things might have something to do with it too. I tell them I'll ship first, but they never even write me back. It's like when you are trying to get your first credit card, and no one will give you a card because you have no established credit. How can you get credit, or in this case tokens, if no one will give you a chance. *sigh* I just wanted some new perfume.

I have had plenty of people not reply to me, I think bad manners is pretty much the norm on MUA!  I also have had luck with getting people to swap for something not on their wishlist, but if it's something pretty good, they often won't swap because of my not-so-many tokens. Has gotten better now that a have more than 0 tokens, though.

Has anyone else been having problems where you contact someone regarding an item you are interested in and they just never reply? No one writes back to me! I'd be fine with them just telling me they aren't interested in a swap.

Also, does anyone have luck with getting someone to swap for something not on their wishlist?

I am thinking that I got swaplifted too!  I sent to someone in Canada and never heard back and now all her info is removed and I can't send an email to her to demand my stuff back. Good thing what I sent wasn't my most valuable stuff, and officegal is right, who'd steal used makeup?  You'd think they would have tried for my new stuff???

I had the same problem with one person who had a Naked palette listed, I tried to swap, but she said it was pending, but not written on her list!  I mean, what was she doing, shopping around for a better offer? This stuff is sooo maddening!!! As Kalex says, GRRR!!!

I'm extremely lazy about things like this. I have a ton of stuff I know I should sell on ebay, but it just seems like so much trouble figuring it out & keeping up with it. So, my house is stuffed full of things I don't use. Aarrghhhh

@kalex- Good for you! And good for all you other ladies who signed up!  It was somewhat daunting for me at first, but it was thrilling when I started to get offers within a few hours of listing my stuff. (Of course, they were ridiculous offers, but it was fun nonetheless)!

I always like to do spring cleaning and this swapping is definitely a way to find homes for all my beauty things that are just sitting around! I wish I had signed up when we did the "count your stuff" thread, I had all my hidden stuff out and could have separated it out.

@mermadelove- How does the "friend" thing work on MUA?  Does it let you know when your friends are on the site? It would be nice if I could find out if my Beauty Talk friends have added stuff to their swap list!

@prettyinpa: I don't think you can add "friends," per se, but you can add people to your favorites. On their user page, you can click on the "Add ________ to favorites" under the user name. If anyone knows of a different way, I would love to know : )

You ladies are all on my favorites list!  That's actually the first thing I did!

I sent out my first swap yesterday.  It was a NARS eyeshadow duo for a MAC pigment.  Hope it goes well... she hasn't sent me a tracking number yet.  I suppose she may be waiting to get my item first since this is my first swap.

I'm a little nervous about the swap I just agreed to.  I agreed to swap 4 items worth over $100 for 2 equal-value items and a $50 gift card.  She's only done 4 swaps (all positive) so we're both going to send our packages tomorrow.  Any suggestions on how to guarantee I get my stuff?  She's in Canada so I don't know if Mail Fraud would apply if she doesn't follow through on her half.  Maybe insurance?
