Hello BIC beauties! 😊 I realized we don't have an active music thread here in BIC (there seem to be a few different short-lived threads from years past, but nothing recent as far as I could find), and I thought it would be fun to have a place to recommend our favorite artists and songs, chat about what we've been listening to lately, post our song of the day or anything else music related! Hi @caitbird !!! Twisted Sister  song WERE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT!!!!! I love Dee Snider the singer of the band. When I enter a cosmetics store or a sephora or macys or Nordstrom's cosmetics I always feel like I look like him. Everyone just looks like they wanna run away from me. I don't let it get me down though.  Because every now and then I come across that one person who cares and wants to help . When I get scared of entering a cosmetics store I just think of Twisted Sister and think would they be scared of entering a cosmetics store. Hell no. Cosmetics stores are scared of them. I'm just going to live my life.

@sissyboi72  great song rec! I love your attitude too. Just living your life and not letting the haters and the doubters get you down - that's a great way to be. It reminds me of that quote, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." Lola Young's Messy has been playing in various spots in my day-to-day routine - the store, a ride share, cafe, etc., so that's what's been running through my head. I also looked up the artists / songs nominated for this year's American Music Awards with the idea of checking out songs I'm not familiar with. Not sure I'll watch the awards show later this month but I'll probably check out the red carpet looks afterwards. 😀

@itsfi  I don't think I know that one (unless I've also heard it in a store or somewhere without realizing it), I will have to check it out!

I am not big on awards shows myself, but I do like to check out the red carpet looks sometimes. And I believe AMA-inspired looks is one of this month's capsule challenge themes, yes? So I'll definitely have to take a look this time! 😉

@caitbird, it's one of those songs where I kept hearing it in different places on various occasions, but couldn't place it. It's the chorus and beat that caught my attention first.

Oh, that's right! lol, I completely forgot about the musician founded/owned or AMA-inspired capsule at the end of the month. It's fun to see some of the looks that walk down the red carpet.

Fun fact, I think of this song every time I use my favorite mug, because the mug has "sleep all day" on it, and one of the refrains of this song is "sleep all day/just waiting for the sun to set". I'm always humming it when I make tea!

Ok ok @caitbird . Song of the  month( I can't do a song a day just to much for me) for me . This month of May is Rebel Rebel by David Bowie.  Great song. Some would say it was the end of Glam Music. At least for David Bowie.  Song rocks.

@itsfi  yes, she has a great voice! My mom discovered her by chance on Spotify a while back, and now my parents and I are all fans. I don't think there's a song of hers that I've heard that I haven't liked. Would love to see her live someday!
