Show off pics of your pets, tell stories, anything you want to share about those special animals in your life 🙂 Post as much and as often as you want!
Here are are my fluff babies DJ and Gunner (also called Lulu or Lou). They are mother and daughter. DJ is my baby and Gunner is a daddy's girl. They are approximately 9 years old and very spoiled!
This is DJ. She loves to be near me.
Miss Gunner Lou loves her catnip carrot
@jozkid - I had planned to adopted a black cat, but I was presented with the opportunity to adopted Titian. How could I resist? I would still love to adopt a black cat (or two...).
I'm so happy to see this Thread again! I'm just in the mood to lurk here tonight. 🙂
I love DJ and Gunner Lou, as always !
@myumew - I saw this last week. I know I...uh...Ivan will need some of this. But the collars, 9"?! Ivan is 20 lbs--he does not have a 9" neck, maybe when he was a kitten! 😄
This is my sweet baby Velora. She was rescued from a local shelter. She was found on the streets as a yearling already pregnant. They spayed her and chipped her but because she is a black kitty, she was hard to adopt. She lived in the shelter in a tiny closet sized room for a year while all the other cats around her were adopted.
She developed kennel rage and they were going to put her down because she had such bad quality of life when we found her last October. She had her third birthday in June and her one year "gotcha" day is coming up soon!
I don't understand the stigma regarding adopting black cats @rastika. I mean do we still live in the dark ages? My sweet Abby (who is no longer with us) was a black shelter cat and I've never had such a sweet cat. I miss her dearly. And so what about black! She went with everything! 🙂
Hi @jozkid! I bet your Abby was a beautiful girl.
Our shelter said that black dog a and cats have a harder time getting adopted because it's harder to see their facial features. Pretty white or bright colored kitties have well defined eyes and usually pink noses. Little kids want pets with faces they can clearly see.
Plus, the stupid superstition of black kitties especially being bad luck. 😞
@makeitup305 - I don't know about shelters hiding black cats, but I do know many will not adopt out black cats during Hallowe'en.
@jozkid I read somewhere that people that work at shelters will hide black cats during Halloween to stop them from getting adopted by people with bad intentions but idk if that's true. Somehow I don't doubt it.
Here's my little Bernie the Pacific parrotlet, maybe it'll give you some color inspirations 🙂
@mmmiu It looks like he's smiling for the camera! What a handsome parrotlet!
I don't have pictures to accompany, but I would love to share. My dentist has two pugs, and she brings them to the office every day. They stay in her office, located between reception and exam area, and are behind a low gate. When I stop and say 'hi', then run up to greet me. Patients are welcome to lean over the gate to give them attention. They are so friendly, and they always show their appreciation by wiggling their whole little bodies and snorting profusely.
While I have always appreciated going to the dentist, now I love to go. Those pugs always make my day.
@SheWhoSkis That sounds like the best office on the planet!!! My pug brightens every day. They really are the best dogs.
I don't have any pets of my own, but I am an aunt to a lot of cute little fur kids and am an eager affection-giver to any animal that crosses my path! Give me a squirmy little pug butt any day of the week!
This grumpy ol'pug is Smeagle, a very close family friend.
