Need clothing and makeup advice for a wedding

This may seem like a silly question, but I need a bit of help, BT. My aunt's wedding is in a couple weeks and I have zero idea what to wear - clothes or makeup. I've never been to a wedding before, so I'm not really sure aside from "no jeans or short shorts."

Their Facebook page says, "We're planning a simple/casual backyard wedding and hope you'll join us! Kids are welcome! Bring swimsuits & towels, pool will be open! more details to come.."

I'm really liking this dress that I found, but would this be too dressy?

That dress would be fabulous!  It just screams "summer" and doesn't look all that dressy to me. I love summer weddings with sundresses and big hats on the attendees, it's just so romantic and a big change from indoor stuffy weddings.
