Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year! ETA: the booklist:

@mermadelove- it's probably good people don't notice me carefully, I've been known to go out with only one eye with liner on, 2 different color shoes or socks, clothes inside out. It's a disgrace
@prettyinpa LOLOLOL I've totally left the house with two different shoes on!!!! And have not noticed until I've arrived at my destination. Fortunately, I only did THAT one once!! ANd I was going to a reading party where I was reading peoples tarot cards so..... I felt that gave me a pass!!!!!
I think people really don't pay attention @mermadelove. One of my coworkers wears middle finger earrings on occasion, and I'm the only one who has noticed!
@MachynesSister So true. I went from wearing tricolor pasted twists down to my butt to rocking my natural curls dyed indigo ( see the Unicorn Hair thread) and like three people said "what's different about you?" REALLY?!?!?!?
That dress is fantastic @mermadelove! I don't work with nerds like me unfortunately, but at least I've got a family full of them!
@prettyinpa Is there a dead line or an ideal date to submit the book list? I am trying to find time in holidays chaos with kids been home all the time. I will try my best to submit a list by the end of this week if it isn't too late. Maybe I am being a bit too picky, it's taking me longer than expected 😄
@fatimamummy- Would the end of this week work? I understand with the holidays and kids home from school, it can be hectic around the house for some people. I'm having trouble with my list too, if it's any consolation. skcfan is compiling a list with groupings today, so we should get our lists done soon so she doesn't have tons of work.
Thank you @prettyinpa I was actually able to submit my list last night. Once I started going through my holds and the books I have heard about but not gotten around reading, I was able to compile the list easily 🙂
I thought it would be hard but after looking at my Chapters love list and what I have in my book shelf to read/reread it was hard to break it down to 10 hahaha 📚
Great idea! I’d love to join!
Count me in! 💖 📚 📖
PM-ing the link! Glad you're here!
@SchylarR posted this in deals too good to pass up but I thought I'd cross post it since it seems relevant: Barnes and Noble is having a deal 15% off of orders $50+ (and free shipping!). Maybe you guys can use this for your book exchange! (use code FRESHSTART)
Thanks, @itscarin! My library has a very limited collection (small town) and interlibrary loan takes forever to get here, so I will definitely be buying books if they aren't available locallly.
I'm really struggling with the book list! There's a few newer books that I'd like to read, but most on my "to read" list are Classics I never got around to that most people have probably already read.
@kalex- I think they are classics for a reason, they can be reread and still appreciated. Go ahead and nominate them, it's good to have diversity in genres.
@kalex I hope you add some Classics to your list! I'm adding some since I haven't read many and I know I'll appreciate them more now
Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina are two good classics that are suddenly a lot more interesting when you're not being forced to read them in college 😂
