BIC book club!

Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year!  ETA: the booklist:

Re: BIC book club!

@jaaayp You have been through quite a few books. I need to start reading moe. Sometimes it takes me a while to get into a book. I have read Atomic Habits. It had some great advice. I have The Four Agreements in my collection but I have not read it yet. I hope you enjoy the books. Any improvement we can take away is a step in the right direction. Hoping for some sunny days ahead!

Re: BIC book club!

I can definitely see that @Mellmars1185 I enjoy reading like "easy"/"quick" reads where the authors write how they talk (very much Atomic Habits) vs like a narrator etc. It helps me immerse into the book faster and the imagination runs a little more wild 😂

Re: BIC book club!

I’ve heard of the four agreements as being a great book. Those all look like amazing reads! 🫶 @jaaayp

Re: BIC book club!

Thank you @peculiarzmakeup tbh idk if it was my favorite but it definitely does open your eyes here and there!!

Re: BIC book club!

That’s good to know! I read a lot of those type of books for my profession, a lot of it is good perspectives but I know what you mean for sure. 💕 @jaaayp

Re: BIC book club!

The Silent Patient popped up so many times in this thread @jaaayp . My library is duh and not having it. Eventually I will cough up and get the kinder version

Re: BIC book club!

Really @blackkitty2014 sorry for the repeat! I'm so late to the club 😂 there's like 16 people on wait list at my library and it was 24 weeks of wait or something.. luckily it's on kindleunlimited for freeeee. I think kindle unlimited is very much worth for avid readers!

Re: BIC book club!

I eventually will sign up for kindle unlimited @jaaayp. Just that I still have lots of unread books. But please post away. That’s how I get good book recommendations from our lovely community 🥰😘🌹

Re: BIC book club!

I'll be keeping my eye out for your recs @blackkitty2014 👀🥰

Re: BIC book club!

Re: BIC book club!

I have been reading a lot this month. I just finished the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas and earlier this month I read the Crescent City series and ACOTAR. I really like her books. The ACOTAR series is my favorite of hers, then Throne of Glass, then Crescent City.

Re: BIC book club!

Chaol or Dorian???

Re: BIC book club!

@sassytheballer  Team Dorian!

Re: BIC book club!

@faeriegirl  Are these fantasy books?  If so, is the plot and characters fairly easy to follow?  Sounds like they are really interesting!

Re: BIC book club!

@faeriegirl  thank you!

Re: BIC book club!

They are fantasy/romance @Cissy63 . They are mostly about faeries and each of them have their own made up worlds. Crescent City was the only one that wasn’t as easy to follow with some of the characters.

Re: BIC book club!

I have started to read Kristin Hannah’s, The Women.    It’s a novel about a young Army nurse during the Vietnam War.  She is shipped overseas as a new RN grad.

This was a choice from the Book of the Month Club.

I think it’s going to be an interesting read as I am a retired Nurse Practitioner who spent nearly 28 years working with Veterans at a VAMC.  And I took care of many Vietnam vets and vets from Iraq/Afganistan War.

Re: BIC book club!

Oh bless you for all the care for our veterans @Cissy63 🌹

Re: BIC book club!

@blackkitty2014  Your very kind 🥰.  Thank you 😊

Re: BIC book club!

Oh, I’m interested in your take on this one @Cissy63. I have passed by displays of the book at bookstores and see it online. I almost picked it up with my last set of books but decided that the 4 I have should suffice for a while.

What a blessing you were to the vets you cared for. 🤍
