BIC book club!

Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year!  ETA: the booklist:

1. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie (16)

Re: BIC book club!

@RachFace2921-  We might as well start it, I don't think I'm ever going to finish it, it's not capturing my interest like some of the other books. I'll start it's own thread.

Re: BIC book club!

Awesome, thank you!  I skipped The Book Thief, but am ready for The Wedding Dress when the group is.  I'll be stalking the thread in the meantime @prettyinpa@, LOL

Re: BIC book club!

Great idea with the link and thread per book.  I'll meet you and the others soon for The Wedding Dress @prettyinpa

BIC book club!

Hello Ladies! So yesterday was National Book Reading Day and I finally got this book I had on hold at the library. I thought it was fitting to share. I'm excited to read this

Re: BIC book club!

Hi, @IndyQT317 !  I didn't know about National Book Reading Day!  😞

I haven't heard of that book.  I'd love to hear your thoughts when you're done!  Enjoy!

Re: BIC book club!

So would Friday work for starting the discussion of The Book Thief?

Re: BIC book club!

Ooh, I have the Book Theif (and the Wedding Dress). I will maybe pause the book I’m reading now to see if I can read the Boof Theif in enough time. And if not, I’ll start on the next book.

@prettyinpa Do you mind/want to try starting a new thread for the next discussion? I think also maybe bolding the title you’re currently on or the next one up with a date of discussion next to it, might be helpful so it’s more clear from the main thread what people are focusing on? Idk, it might be helpful, or it might just be more of the same. Feel free to ignore me......

Re: BIC book club!

@snoflakefaerie- That's a good idea about starting a new thread for each book discussion. I don't think we could be accused of spamming the boards, lol. I also edited the main list per your idea, thanks!

Hey book loves! I wasn't sure when to start the next book...

Hey book loves! I wasn't sure when to start the next book. I kept circling back to the thread for an update. Lol. I will catch the next book to keep up😉

Re: Hey book loves! I wasn't sure when to start the next book...

For what it's worth @IndyQT317 , I start the next book within a few days after I post my comment(s) about the current book.  I never know how long it will take me to read a given book, so I start as soon as I can.

Re: Hey book loves! I wasn't sure when to start the next book...

Thanks @Titian06 that does help. I will do that going forward. Also ladies I won't read The Wedding Dress after all. I will jump back in on The Fault in our Stars. I have read it prior, but will reread it to jog my memory.

Re: BIC book club!

@prettyinpa I’m halfway through The Book Thief and I find it a very easy read. I think I’ll be done by Friday.

Re: BIC book club!

@fatimamummy-  Would it work better for you if we waited until Monday? I probably won't be on BIC much this weekend but I didn't want @Titian06 to forget so I just chose Friday.

Re: BIC book club!

@prettyinpa- How thoughtful of you!  I think I'll make it through the weekend.  Now if you were talking two or three weeks...

Re: BIC book club!

@prettyinpa Monday is more ideal. With kids being home, day to day routine is very unpredictable sometimes 😀 So let’s talk about it onMonday!

Re: BIC book club!

Good point, @fatimamummy- Monday it is, thanks for helping me decide.

Re: BIC book club!

@prettyinpa @fatimamummy - Monday works for me.

Re: BIC book club!

Hey, all, I finished reading The Book Thief this weekend.  No hurry for anyone else to start or finish.  I just want to let you know.  I'm going to read a book of Erma Bombeck's newspaper columns while I wait.

Over my vacation last month, I read The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked a Hornets Nest.

Re: BIC book club!

I finished The Book Thief too, @Titian06. Do you want to start discussion soon? Actually, are we the only ones left, lol?

Re: BIC book club!

Hi @prettyinpa@& @Titian06, I've been stalking the thread, in the shadows, waiting for one that grabbed my attention that I haven't read before. I can rejoin you for The Wedding Dress.

Re: BIC book club!

That's great, @RachFace2921!  I was reading the abstract for the book and it sounds like it could be interesting.
