Are there any rewards or points you get for beauty blogging

Hello,

I know on other beauty blog sites there are perks that you could earn points for blogging and answering other peoples questions and doing reviews on this site. Are there any perks on this site? Points or samples or anything? Just curious...

Well, BeautyTalk is relatively new. You get hearts if your posts are useful right? I say they should give us free rewards (deluxe sample or % off) if we had so many posts with so many hearts each year. =X

I think that is a great idea. I know of another site that gives you points and you can cash them in for goodie bags. Just a little something for taking people's precious time out and helping others. And I don't know if Sephora is aware but my feeling on it is if I get good products to sample I am going to be more compelled to buy full size products and have better feedback as the customers view. I buy a ton of things from sephora now on a regular basis, I think giving samples out will do them more good than they realize.

Sorry angelclarice, there isn't any way to earn points redeemable for perks except by purchasing something from Sephora. You can earn hearts on here by posting and hearting other people's posts (they tend to heart you back), but hearts aren't redeemable for anything other than a happy feeling.

I don't know how the samples work online as I have never made an online order on Sephora's website. But my experience shopping in-store is that if you ask they are more than happy to give you samples of products you are wanting to try out. Just a couple days ago I was explaining to a cast member that I loved Stella by Stella McCartney in the bottle but I tested it one day in store and didn't like how it faded on me, but suspected it might have been because I had just been swatching makeup on my wrists and then wiped it off with their makeup remover. She got me a sample of Stella as well as another perfume she thought I might like! (As it turns out I was right about the makeup remover and Stella is my new obsession! Signature scent? I think so!)

Anyway, as @prettyinpa said the hearts give you a happy feeling! I enjoy coming onto these boards because it is fun to interact with people who share my passion for makeup (and shoes, and video games, and musicals, and, and, and etc...) I haven't been on BeautyTalk for long but I find that being by being involved and giving advice where I can I am actually learning a lot and getting some great suggestions! 🙂
