Your favorite blotting papers?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite blotting sheets are, and why.

Oily skin is very new to me so I never had any use for blotting sheets until just a few months ago.  So far I've tried Palladio Rice Paper and e.l.f. blotting sheets.  I love the Palladio because each sheet is pretty sturdy, large, and has a bit of powder.  The e.l.f. is very flimsy in comparison and probably doesn't soak up as much oil.

Would love to hear which blotting papers others use and what you like about them!

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

My favorite are the Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers. It has a tiny bit of power too, which is nice.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Usually Benefit POREfessional last me through the day, but as for blotting papers....

toilet paper. =X. mostly because I never remember to bring blotting paper with me, and I gotta go there at some point, and it works.

Otherwise I've only used Boscia, which is good enough for my oily T-zone.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

I always liked the Sephora brand blotting papers -- I used to use the rubbery blue ones, but it seems they have changed, and I haven not tried the new version(s). I don't use any now (though I should!) -- I just dust powder across my t-zone.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

I like Boscia's, it soaks up oil without smuding or removing makeup. But if I don't have any on me, toilet paper really does work in a bind, although it does pickup some of your foundation or such.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

LOL @ toilet paper!  I, too, have used it on occasion (like beautytester said, you gotta go there sometime, LOL) and was secretly wondering why people didn't just do that rather than carry blotting papers around everywhere.

It sounds gross but I sorta like the way I can actually see the oil soaked up by the blotting paper, there's something satisfying about it!  And, it seems more grown-up to pull out a small slim case of blotting papers rather than putting toilet paper on my face!  Functionality-wise I think toilet paper works pretty well though. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Hahaha, not gonna lie drrragon, I do this all the time. Don't have room in my scrub pockets for blotting papers! I do find blotting paper to work better though- I don't see foundation come off on them, but I do see small amounts of foundation come off on the toilet paper.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

kenny said the same about the TP picking up foundation!  Whew!  I'm glad you guys mentioned that.  There had to be SOME reason for me to use fancy grownup blotting papers (and incidentally buy more stuff from Sephora)!

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

#enable.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

hahahaha!  even for something as humble as blotting paper, ohhh we love enablement here!  although you guys could probably get me to buy even toilet paper if you told me a particular brand was great for blotting, lol

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

lol, it makes me feel a little better that other people do this too. Yes, it is much more glamorous to use actual blotting papers (especially Boscia's holiday peppermint ones). Usually cheaper 1-ply toilet paper does better at blotting without picking up makeup... Smiley Happy

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

omg kenny are you testing to see if i actually buy the toilet paper??  hahahaha

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

maybe... Just noting my personal observations Smiley Happy While not the most preferable in terms of its intended use, it works best!

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

*best in terms of using tp not compared to blotting papers!

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Somehow I forsee some of BT checking different public bathrooms to see which ones have one-ply TP...

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

lol..... no buys...

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

@beautytester

Oh. My. Gosh. PLEASE DO hahahaha

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

YES!!!  @beautytester please please pleeeeeease do the toilet paper comparison post!!!!  Or maybe we could do a TP blotting challenge and rate various TPs from home, office, schools, etc. LOL!

Highlighted

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Hahahahahaha. Oh you guys. Ok, give me a couple weeks to figure out the details and supplies. Unlike skincare, I don't actually collect TP, you know.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Lol, too bad April fool's day is past. I'm very tempted to do a TP blotting paper comparison post. =P

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Holiday mint sounds so good, I mustve missed these...mine are the just plain.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

Actually in many Asian countries they don't provide toilet papers for public restrooms, so when you are travelling, you have to carry TP anyways. I like the TP brand with the bear on it, you can separate the ply, and sometimes if I spot a dry/flaky patch when wearing powder, I run a little water on the paper and press on the spot. =X. And of course you can use it to do minor make up clean up etc etc.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

So true, when I went to China, I had to carry a roll around with me, and use the hole in the ground....which I refused to do most of the time, but I had a few emergencies where I had to break down and do it.

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

I actually read somewhere that the toilet seat covers will work as blotting papers. Not sure if it actually works, but since we are raiding public restrooms anyway.....

Re: Your favorite blotting papers?

They do work!! I do this in a pinch at concerts, bars, etc! Blotting papers still work better though because I notice my foundation coming off on the seat covers but never on my Boscia Blotting Linens.
