Winged Eyeliner?? Help!

Can anyone help me figure out how to do winged eyeliner?? I want to do it so bad, but when I try it is NOT PRETTY 😫😭

Re: Winged Eyeliner?? Help!

I agree with what everyone has says but also, make sure that you are really investing in a good eyeliner, too. I would get something with a felt tip like Kat VOn D tattoo liner or even Nyx has a great dupe of it. The felt tip liners bend nicely, are very pigmented and easy to play with.

RE: Winged Eyeliner?? Help!

Working with your eye shape is super important, I have almond eyes so it's pretty easy to make wings but I draw flicks on the outer corners and then fill the lash line in and connect it all. I've been working on my winged eye liner for literally 5 years though and always perfecting it. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it! It really does just take lots of practice

RE: Winged Eyeliner?? Help!

Have you tried the tape trick?? I personally only do the flick for my wings bc my eyes are so hooded that if I carried the line all the way to my inner corner it looks crammed and shrinks my eyes. I also don't bother with the 'follow your bottom lash line for the wing angle' rule. It usually makes my wings go up into the crease of my eye. Literally just 'wing it'. Slap a piece of SLIGHTLY sticky tape (if it's too sticky there's a risk of tearing the really fragile skin around your eye, I've done it) to your face where you want the outside line of your wing to go, then take your liner and just do a little notch at the corners forwards your lash line extending into your eyeliner rather than away. If you use a pencil rather than a liquid formula, use a small detail brush to blend it out onto the tape to make it sharper rather than using more pencil, then set it with a similarly colored eyeshadow. If you use liquid then just draw from the tape down to where you connected the wing to your lash line at a narrow angle to get that sharp point. When you peel the tape up you should have a crisp line.
