A long cat eyeliner (to match my cat lady glasses!)

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita on the lips (such a pretty shade and doesn't look too washed out against my skintone!)

Thank you! I've been really working hard at my skin so that's really nice to hear. I try to forego foundation most days to keep my pores from clogging too much with makeup.

I wanted to do something simple today. I'm heading in-store to see about snagging some foundation samples and I feel weird when I go heavy on the eyeshadow then walk into a Sephora store..

Still using Tarte's full-coverage as the quest for a light,non-irritating natural foundation continues.

I have a strong preference for cruelty free but I may have to go beyond that to find something that works.

So far, in my sights are:

    - Koh Gen Do's aqua foundation - though this is not carried in the store, i'd have to take a plunge and by it outright online.

    - Some stuff from Shiseido (also not carried in my store)

    - Hourglass' Illusion foundation.

    - Some stuff from NARS.

    - Kat von D's foundation, if I thin it out with a bit of hydration essence or oil. Make it a bit more medium coverage instead of full, with some added skin benefits.

    - Lancome's Nude Miracle

    - Dior Diorskin Forever Flawless

    - Dolce & Gabbana The Perfect Finish.

I'll get what I can. When I have some extra cash, I'll probably start with Koh Gen Do, because I can't exactly get samples. If those fail, I'll take them into the store, and get something that I was able to sample. The grey-area brands will be my last considerations.

I've used Shiseido foundation in the past and liked it. Do any Macy's around you have Shiseido counters?

I'd have to drive all the way into Portland proper to find a Macys with a Shiseido counter. I live down in Intel-land, so that would be two, maybe three hours with typical PDX traffic. If I'm ever in the area for other reasons, I may make the stop, but I can't justify it just for some samples 😕

That, and Shiseido is what I would consider a grey-area brand, as they do sell in China. I don't dismiss quality products - I mean, I have MUFE eyeshadows and what not. But I still try to stay in the CF area.
