Oh your HAIR!!! I only wish my curls behaved and looked that well!! I end up leaving it in some half done waves that just look a frizzy mess haha

A Devacut is kind of a proprietary method of cutting curly hair invented by the owner of DevaChan salon in NYC. They're also the folks who came up with the DevaCurl line of haircare products. And I'm planning on sticking with this stylist because he really seems to be getting this right!

Ugh, I need to do this. I have curly hair like you, and I just can't seem to do anything with it... and I'm just too lazy to straighten it everyday. Sometimes I just feel like buzzing it all off!

EDIT: Just made an appointment for a DevaCut. I'll have to wait until April for the appointment, and I'll have to drive an hour to get there, but you've convinced me it's worth it!.......unless I decide to buzz it before April gets here......

I actually didn't know my hair was this curly until about 9 months ago. It was wavy when I was a kid, but I've been blowing it out for decades. And then over maybe the last year, I noticed that my hair would look fine after drying, and then I'd go out into the humidity and *POOF* — fuzzball — regardless of the fancy straightening products used! So I starting trying out the Deva products with some good results. Then I went to my regular hairdresser with my hair curly and asked him to cut it so I could wear it blown out or curly. Disaster! Not everyone understands curly hair and this is a very experienced stylist. So I made the appointment for a DevaCut after growing out the fiasco and I haven't looked back since! I really really hope you love it!

I will be getting my deva cut next week. Also look toward to the touch up. My hair is more wavy/swavy. Your skin looks flawless.

I think maybe the low weird lighting is contributing a lot to the illusion of my flawless skin. 😉

I have The Curly Girl Handbook written by Devacurl founder Lorraine Massey so I am familiar with the different curl types. It is highly recommended for anybody with curly/wavy hair. Like Jozkid I looked on the Devacurl website and that is how I found my hairstylist.

wow! you look amazing! my hair has similar curl but it usually looks like a hot mess. maybe i should try a similar haircut. i will keep your pic in mind for future reference 🙂

drppr, google devacurl and on their site they list deva certified stylists. That's how my search started. I found some listed in Boston, did a little research with yelp, found one in a salon that looked promising and then found Antonio! He works at the main Deva salon in NYC, but travels around the country and works in Boston a couple of days twice a month. The secret's in the cut — they cut it dry, curl by curl.
