Thank you! The colors actually look brighter in real life - it's a bit more of a bold look than this. I think my phone camera tends to wash out colors as it tries to cope with my pale skin and comparatively dark hair. It's trying to normalize everything.

I was in the mood for muted colours today. We did a video shoot for a training video and I didn't want to be *that person* with the super bright lipstick! On another note, I'm famous (haha, not)!

I used my Smashbox Master Class 3 palette today--Vanilla all over, Drizzle as base and Smoke along the lash line. I ended up going overboard with Smoke and just put it alllll over my eyelid so it was a pain to blend out. Even though it's a grey, somehow it still looks purple in my photo. Go figure.

Lips are Sephora's Cream Lip Stain in #13 Marvelous Mauve. I've only had it on for 3.5 hours and I'm loving it so far. It was completely opaque in one coat, goes on smoothly and the texture is really quite amazing. I prefer it to the NYX matte lip creams, and for this particular colour I prefer the formula to the 2 Kat Von D liquid lipsticks I have (Double Dare and Exorcism). It has lasted through a greasy croissant breakfast sandwich so far and the only slight wear I see is on the inner lip. I'm going to try really hard to not touch up throughout the day and report back on how it wears throughout the day.

FYI, if you Google Marvelous Mauve vs. Lolita (since there's a lot of talk about the new brownish formula of Lolita that's currently in stores and online) the two have their similarities... Marvelous Mauve is more purply and Lolita is pinkier but it might be a good alternative if you really don't want the brown version! I also read that NYX matte lip cream in Cannes is very similar to Lolita.

I swear I almost added Marvelous Mauve to my basket after seeing it on you but I have the Stila liquid lipstick in Patina and I think it might be similar?

I believe you're right... I remember seeing a comparison swatch and they are very similar if not almost identical!

So, my original plan was to wear a brighter, warmer lip shade but we've been getting really weird almost hurricane-like tropical weather lately and the clouds have me in the mood for cooler looks.
