That looks great, @PDXXXX , and your hair is so cute, too!
Thanks @CookieGirl1 ! I recently cut off about 8 inches and am trying to find new ways to style a bob - it's been interesting, lol.
@PDXXXX you have the cutest features! Almost elf like in the best way! Also, I’ve been going back and forth on getting that hourglass palette. Do you have any from previous years to compare it side by side?
As for shades in small pans. Use a highlighter brush. Brush the product liberally onto the back of your hand. Then use any brush you actually want to use on your face, to pick up product from your hand. This is especially helpful if there’s a glorious eyeshadow you want to use as a highlighter or contour. 😉
@heartsmyface that is so sweet of you, thank you.
I picked up this palette in both the Evil Eye and Dragon but have never gotten them before this year. I need to do a swatch comparison of both but can't compare them to previous years. As between the two, I'm definitely leaning Evil Eye as I like more warm/pink shades. But I really wanted to try the setting powders in Dragon as Evil Eye doesn't include any and was surprised that while one of the blushes in the palette looked nude/mauve in the pictures it applied much warmer. Do they ever integrate the holiday shades into their staple collections?
Thank you so much for the application tip! That is so helpful as to how to cover larger areas and had not occurred to me at all!
Thank you @SportyGirly125 . I want to know about the shirt you're rocking in your own! It's amazing.
@PDXXXX It’s a dress I got years ago from Bebe
Evil Eye suits you so well @PDXXXX 💖 this is lovely!
I have a few different size powder brushes, and the smaller ones suit this palette better for me. SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Blush Brush #93 is what I use for the bronze and blush. 🙈 Yes, I double up and use a blush brush for my bronzer contour. It's that wrong lol? Maybe, but it turns out so nicely. 😜 I do have a more precise contour brush PATRICK TA Dual Ended Precision Nose Contour Brush if I need it.
@CynthieLu thank you! Being new to Hourglass powders I was really impressed by how well they served different purposes. Those both look like great brushes. I've never learned how to do a good nose contours so learning about that Patrick Ta brush is very cool 🙂
@PDXXXX Nose contouring got especially easy for me when I started applying my shadow shade all down my nose lightly with an angled blush brush. then applying the highlight shade right over the high points with a more rectangular shaped eyeshadow brush. I use the MUFE 248 wavy brush.
much easier than trying to draw two straight lines down the sides of my nose.
@PDXXXX I really don't do my nose contour often, but if I feel like it, the nose contour brush is a cute little brush to use.
The Hourglass palette's really are great right? Especially the holiday releases imo. It's got almost everything we need all in one handy place. 😜
I love that your having so much fun playing around and getting familiar with yours. 💕
