@CynthieLu I use A LOT of sunscreen, so I use up most of the full-size bottle I purchase. On the last night of vacation, I use whatever is left to refill the travel bottle, so there is little waste.
That's so well planned out @Mel231 😊 I love it!
@Mel231, wow! You have gotten your travel essentials down! Impressive!
I am pretty sure I have a mini of the Bumble and Bumble hair oil - making a note to check. Oh, do you have a waterproof mascara you love?
@itsfi Waterproof mascaras can be disappointing and clumpy. I am always trying new ones. My favorite so far is Maybelline Curl Bounce.
@itsfi Great thread! I like the bag in the middle photo. Where did you find it? I was recently debating on purchasing a new bag for travel. I currently own the same Sephora bag you have pictured. It has worked well and I like that it has a spot to hold brushes. As @CynthieLu mentioned, I use some smaller bag I have collected throughout the years. I will put my fragile items like powders and liquids in the Sephora bag and smaller items like foils and lip products in the smaller zipper bags. I will report back with my essentials!!
@Mellmars1185 Oooo great choice. Is there a bag you have your eye on? Can’t wait to see your essentials.
@ather Thank you. There is a bag that I was looking at on Amazon that has a zipper and unfolds. It comes in 6 colours and looks like it can fit a lot in it. I am open to other brands but I would like to buy something similar.
Those bags come in so handy @Mellmars1185 👌👌
@CynthieLu @Mellmars1185 this is my justification for picking up bags 😆 They’ll come in handy and I mean, what if a particular bag would be the exact size I need in the future?! Hahaha!
@itsfi @CynthieLu Truth 🙌. For my next big travel I am thinking to pack less...But I can always justify another bag lol
lol @Mellmars1185, I too am “thinking” to pack less for my next trip. @CynthieLu Somehow I feel like that aspiration will stay in the “thinking” camp. 😝
Yes 💯 The bags are irresistible for so many reasons, they can come in handy for so many things right? They can fit an occasion, a mood, or end up being just right for so many things. How can we resist that sort of magic? 🤗
@CynthieLu @itsfi So true. Now I am thinking I should pack my magic bag too. You can never havr enough right 😆🤔
Thank you @Mellmars1185; it's fun to see what are the go to's for folks when they travel - foils or decanting their full size products into containers, etc. I want to get better at packing - it's always such an exercise in restraint and editing, helped only by the limited packing space a suitcase provides. Hahaha!
Oh, I like that bag too; I took it with me to last year's Sephoria. It's one of my favorites 💗 - the other side of the bag has a band that I can secure my brushes in, if I want, or I can use it to hold more stuff. lol. It's from the brand Truffle . I picked it up on sale from Neiman Marcus a few (?) years ago - my first order was canceled because they ran out of stock and then I saw it come back online again months later and was able to get it, so I told myself it was meant to be mine. 🤣 I don't know if Truffle ships internationally or if NM still carries the brand, but if they don't, I do see similiar looking ones on amazon.
Excited to see your travel essentials!
@Mellmars1185, another similar bag to the one above is the SEPHORA COLLECTION The Face Brush Set - this one only has one compartment though. But you get brushes. 😆
@itsfi Ooh thanks for showing me this. I don't have face travel sized brushes. They look cute!
There’s a few other new Sephora Collection brush sets but I couldn’t find them to tag earlier @Mellmars1185.
SEPHORA COLLECTION The Starter Brush Set
SEPHORA COLLECTION The Total Brush Set
Theres also an SEPHORA COLLECTION The Eye Brush Set but that bag is smaller than the others. It depends if you need or want more brushes. I’m sure there are similar bags without the brushes that would be less expensive.
@itsfi Thank you! I searched Sephora Collection and it looks like they have released quite a few new items. It is exciting because I love the Sephora brand. I don't think I have anymore room for new brushes 😆. The bag makes for a great travel bag though...hmmm 🤔. How long do you keep your brushes before you retire them??
For travel I like to use the cute little brand bags that I've collected over the years to help me be organize.
This trip I used one for a couple of nail polish, polish removing pads and tidy up q-tips.
I used a rather large one to bring my skin care foils and testers and GWP.
And another to do my hair care, which was foils of shampoo/conditioner, two tester hair oils and Oribe Hair Alchemy Heatless Hair Styling Balm 5 oz / 150 ml ( and a tester mini spray conditioner to use after swimming Bumble and bumble Mini Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat Protectant Leave In Conditioner Primer 2 oz/... )
And one for my makeup that was just simply:
PAT McGRATH LABS Mini Eye Shadow Palette: Sublime Smoke
Benefit Cosmetics Mini Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel 3
Supergoop! Unseen Lipscreen Sheer SPF 30 Lip Balm
MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil Extreme Waterproof Lip Liner 606 Wherever Walnut
TOM FORD Lip Color Lipstick 01 Insatiable from a set of cute Mini's.
Speaking of the large bag of GWP+ foils, I still have a fair amount left after clearing through some this trip, ( posted on Empties - V2 )
Just the left overs pictures below.
Love the way you organized your travel essentials, so well thought out. I like the idea of packing in bags because each item is well thought out when it is put into the bag. I think it’s so neat to utilize foils, I think it’s a great way to incorporate them I know sometimes I will forget to use them in the moment. Lovely travel essentials and such cute bags! I hope your trip was amazing 🤩 @CynthieLu
Thank you so much @peculiarzmakeup 💖
I love organizing things into little bags and categories lol. I think it's the most fun part of the packing experience imo. Silly but true!
I've really collected quite a few makeup bags over the years. I would love to see others collection's of them too. I have a weakness for a good branded bag and I'm sure there are lots of BIC folks who might feel the same. 💕
Oh gosh, yes, foils. I don't mean to have so many of them but they just build lol. Taking them with me helps cut them down drastically and saves me so much space. Win win!
