I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun. It's dress up for me, but make it adult.
This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya. 99% Zendaya.
The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag. Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too
The Fab - What you loved enough to be inspired by or loved the most about your look
The Face - the proooodduccctsss, so I can add to my loves list, y'all. Or a pic of your face
Note: posting your actual self is optional. Feel free to post pics or lists of what you included. This really is about seeing what others are doing and getting inspired to try or retry things.
Also feel free to cross post to existing threads (and browse)

What are you wearing today Pt2
Looking fantastic and cozy @Buootiful 💖 You have really cute hair clips too!
@Buootiful your skin looks lovely! How do you like the Farmacy Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm 0.12 oz/ 3.4 g ? I am always having to battle dry skin and lips this time of year and intrigued.
Thank you, it's really not, only blurry in the photo, lol. I love # Farmacy Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm 0.12 oz/ 3.4 g . It has been a staple for 5 yrs now. I tried the Aquaphor in stick form for a week and had to go back to this one. @PDXXXX
This is coquettish and collegiate. I love the skincare + makeup choices @Buootiful
Also, reminder for me to use those adorable Chunks Bow Snap Hair Clips Cherry 🫶🏽🙌🏽
Awww, you are too kind. I did attend college so....😊 @danielledanielle
Congrats on your gratis! I hope the holidays bring some time for rest! I adore this fit on you! You are beautiful @Buootiful
A wwww, thanks so much @peculiarzmakeup
Sending you multiple virtual hugs @Buootiful i dig the look 😍 the hair clips and the BIC sweater are absolutely adorable. I’m with you on the Supergoop Matte. It has blurring affect liked no others. Sometimes I just wear it by itself. Last time Sephora had special promotion half off on these I got liked 4 bottles 😂🤣
Thank you so much🫠🫠 @blackkitty2014 . Yeah, I gor this on sale at Ulta. I hope it goes on sale soon, now that I know for sure I like it.❤️
The lips are a mix of the Rhode and Westman Atelier shades.
Beautiful selections, such stunning pairings I love how each element is a beautifully elegant Segway to the next all creating an absolutely stunning, elegant charming vibe. Rhode and WA what a great idea. I love the all encompassing design suited just for you. This is amazing! @itsfi that jacket is so gorgeous on you!
You’re so fab @itsfi .i love love the jacket 👍❤️🌹
The lipstick combo looks fabulous! @itsfi I've not used a shoulder bag but thinking to get back into them but crossbodies are so comfortable . Do they stay on your shoulders cuz the arm holds it in or falls off easily?
@Buootiful, crossbodies are definitely comfortable and convenient too. I don’t find this purse to fall off easily - double handle straps are more secure but I haven’t had any issues with this staying on my shoulders - certainly it’ll stay better if my arm helps to hold it in place / presses it against my side, but it’s stayed when my arm is not holding it.
@PDXXXX, the green of this bag is one of my favorites.
@itsfi I've been so in love with that shade of green lately. The bag has such a nice shape to it as well!
That green purse looks amazing @itsfi : I love how the color pairs with your jacket! How do you like the Sephora Reveal the Real?
@PDXXXX, I’ve really been enjoying the Sephora Reveal the Real. Coverage-wise, it’s a cross between Tower 28 SunnyDays and Urban Decay Bond Foundation, both of which are favorites. The finish is between those two base products as well - satin like finish.
One light layer will do a fair job of evening skin tone - the redness around my nose and parts of my cheeks will still be a little visible. A light second layer on those areas will provide more coverage. I do have to use concealer around nose. I have found myself looking at my skin when I’ve used this and think “huh, this makes my skin look really nice.” It lasts all day if I set it.
@itsfi I had to reread the intro, because I was envious that you could still wear this in December @itsfi , but now I've realized that is not at all the case....ahhhh, it's good to reread.
I love the moto jacket. I love it as a sweater, as a hard edge blazer, they are so versatile. Instant cool, instant chic. Maybe this is your edgy piece.
Also, 😂 at the pants. I think I picked up a pair of satin trousers for future family gatherings for that reason. 'Tis the season.
And yay to finding a new fave out of your comfort zone!!! I feel like that there's an exception to everything. You can 9/10 not like a pattern, print, style, shade or fit, but then something happens, and there's something that works. There are enough hoop earrings to gift, this pair is yours.
@danielledanielle, this was literally from the 1st of the month. 😂 This year has been so different than past years as far as weather goes for us - chillier fall, earlier winter weather, tornado and tsunami warnings, etc.) In the past, I would likely be able to wear this outfit without a heavy coat through about mid December (right now), but my heavier clothes have been moved to the front of the closet for a couple of weeks. No more sunny high-60 degrees in the afternoon. It’s still sunny but my word, the air and wind!! 💨 Future looks will be coat heavy. 🧥
THE FIT: I was in a vulnerable yet simultaneously "come at me" mood yesterday. Moods like that are when I use fashion as almost a shield. On the one hand, I needed something soft, vulnerable, and like a hug like this blouse I got on sale at the Theory Outlet last summer online as I was feeling vulnerable. On the other, I needed a lot of edge which I tried to convey with these dark grey J.Crew jeans I got on sale, disheveled hair, leaving the bow on the blouse untied, and most importantly the ring I will show in "THE FAB." I paired it all with my Nine West round-toe suede burgundy wedges (you can see the color more accurately in "THE FAB") which have elements of softness and edginess but also simply are very, "me" and true to me style.
THE FAB: Here you can better see the softness of the blouse I chose and the true color of the wedges I wore. But most importantly my singular accessory: a ring I bought on sale at Banana Republic about 20 years back for about $18 I wasn't sure I wanted at the time but is now one of my favorites. This baby is a real gobstopper and size wise comes up about three-quarters to the knuckle. I'm a big fan of large cocktail rings when I need to be classy yet feel hard and I feel it has big "come at me" vibes.
THE FACE: inspired the outfit to some degree. For my base, I used one pump of my Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Perfect Natural Glow Foundation mini mixed with one drop of Clarins Santal Soothing & Hydrating Face Treatment Oil 1 oz / 30 mL , concealed with Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Brightening Concealer With Hyaluronic Acid Atelier L1 and set with Tarte Smooth Operator Loose Powder. I just got the HUDA BEAUTY Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette so wanted to try it and base the overall color scheme on that. Then decided to use Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush in Bright Coral and define a bit with my Jones Road Bronzer. And used Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick Softy topped with Jones Road Cool Gloss in Clear. I'll add the hair (which was on 4th-day wavy/curls looking dry and frizzy as all heck) in case anyone else is playing with similar issues and say Jillian Dempsy's Men's Pomade rocks all the socks when you need to define and smooth your waves or curls and frizz and somehow does it without making your hair look greasy.
But really, the ring. Does anyone else have a favorite "come at me" accessory or item? It really is sort of my Superman Cape on days I need to feel stronger.
Fantastic look, love your pose it’s so beautifully you as soon as I saw these photos the word “joy” radiated in between my ears. I love the polkadotted vibes. Your blouse and makeup pairing is so inspiring. Each detail so meaningful 🩷 @PDXXXX
