I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun.  It's dress up for me, but make it adult.

This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya.  99% Zendaya.

The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag.  Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too

The Fit: this was inspired by my breaking out my favorite, classic oversized chunky knit ivory sweater for Fall and doing makeup on skin that is rather red right now. I wanted to play with neutrals here and adapt to my hair now being pretty much the same color as the sweater. If this was a fragrance, it would probably be "Cozy Sweater" by Haus of Gloi, a vegan bath, lotion and fragrance line a friend started they describe as, "pale skin musk, faded perfume, Egyptian amber, softly burning nag champa incense and a fine aged vanilla."

The Fab: It's making me want to do a nuder lip more often, made me realize I don't always need blush and helped me learn a bit more about the eye shadow palette I chose. It also got me to revisit Cozy Sweater perfume and body butter.

The Face: 

Because my skin was really flushed (part of a syndrome I have called P.O.T.S) and has been rather dry I stuck to Dr. Jart+ Cicapair ™ Tiger Grass Camo Drops Color Corrector SPF 35 1 oz / 30 mL for base, used Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Bright Fix Eye Brightener Concealer in golden ivory and then avoided blush lightly contouring with Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Cream Contour & Highlight Sticks Almond and Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment - Nudes Collection in #1 as an eye base before setting with Tarte Smooth Operator Loose Powder and doing a quick highlight with Bobbie Brown Highlighting Powder in Nude.

I wanted a peachy, neutral eye so used PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eyeshadow Palette but definitely went a little too heavy on the lightest shade (live and learn) then applied DIOR Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof Mascara Black.

For lips I used Grande Cosmetics GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper Gloss in nude. It goes on a bit opaque so I lined and blended with LAWLESS Forget The Filler Definer Lip Liner Nude Honey

ohhh, your sweater looks so comfy and cozy @PDXXXX; you look great with this nude lip combo! How do you like the Grande plumping gloss? Is there a tingling / stinging feeling to it?

Thank you @itsfi . I have the Grande gloss in this color and clear. I'm not a huge fan of the colored version as it's a bit opaque but not so much that it cancels your underlying lip color (which isn't always a bad thing) but do like the clear. I don't get any of the tingly feeling with it but it's a nice consistency and feels like it delivers providing a plumped appearance short term though my vote's out on if it has any long term effect.

The Fit: Shacket I saw on RTR, which I posted in Non-Beauty Hauls October 2024 

and picked it up at their sample sale for even less.  The dress is a Gap dress with front slit pockets, but the Shacket has no pockets 🥲

The Fab: the Shacket.  I love the little faux leather trim on it.  And it's nice a warm.  This is my "I'm an old rich lady" outfit.  It just needs oversized sunglasses and a little dog.  😂

The Face: Groundwerk! Danessa Myricks Beauty Groundwork: Defining Neutrals - Palette For Eyes, Brows, Face & Lips  I genuinely love this palette, I think I used it to set my brows, used it on my eyes, to contour.  It's so versatile.  The lips are an Estee Lauder product that I blurred/blotted out with a liquid lip from Context skin that I was so kindly gifted.

Going out to celebrate my oldest son’s birthday.  All comfy in a L’Agence silk snake blouse, a satin skirt and some brown snake shoes. 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍I used the Danessa Myricks IV palette to go with the snake theme on my eyes.

I need a better way to take full body shots.  Or maybe to clean my mirror.  I had a whole orange outfit picked out last night but my mood this morning wasn’t having it.  I ended up in plum and black tights, a plum corset over a sheer top, a velvet pearly hat from Temu (I sold my soul out of curiosity as to whether it was a legit site and for accessories). I am now spammed like crazy.  I swear they make their real money selling your info to calling lists, but they DO deliver and some things are pretty decent if you’re willing to take a gamble and expect 25% will be unusable.  The hat I have decided is going to need an arts and crafts night.  I need to sew some horsehair into it to stabilize it a bit. I also think the pearls abruptly ending looks weird.  It needs big pearl buttons on each side of the pearl strand to make it look like it’s  not just floating.  I do like the concept though so it’s worth the project to improve the quality of it. 

The dark burgundy MK pumps are so comfy.  I don’t go much higher with heels these days.  ha, and I love that I am sporting swatches on my hand.  Very chic!  

 makeup-wise I wore the ND Sunrise palette I ‘won’ with the big prize spin at Sephoria!  Again the original plan was to wear orange today, but it worked with the plum.  I do love the colours but I found I had fallout attached to my contacts half way through the day.  Not cool.  It was a foggy day for me from then on.
