I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun. It's dress up for me, but make it adult.
This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya. 99% Zendaya.
The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag. Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too
The Fab - What you loved enough to be inspired by or loved the most about your look
The Face - the proooodduccctsss, so I can add to my loves list, y'all. Or a pic of your face
Note: posting your actual self is optional. Feel free to post pics or lists of what you included. This really is about seeing what others are doing and getting inspired to try or retry things.
Also feel free to cross post to existing threads (and browse)

What are you wearing today Pt2
@itsfi, ok, this is a nice blend of staples (heeled boots, military style jacket, jeans) with an iconic accessory, in a houndstooth no less?! Totally agree with @CookieGirl1 , a houndstooth pattern just takes it up a notch. Another chic, but casual winner!
@danielledanielle, military style - that's the name of it. I was wracking my brain trying to find a photo of something similar and trying to figure out how to describe the jacket for the search. Thank you! Black/white, neutrals, classics with a pop of color or a pop of something - that's my comfy space. And it's in the form of a scarf? Even better. 😍
@itsfi I love the scarf! That just feels so chic to me.
@CookieGirl1, I'm rarely online when these things get released (and even more rare for me is redeeming my points for something other than a $100 Rouge Reward), but the timing worked out very well this time.
@itsfi Houndstooth is such a classic pattern but so unique too. I may draws some inspiration from you if I can find a similar scarf. I love your descriptions!
@JoSometimes, houndstooth is such a fun pattern - in scarves, handbags, shoes, etc. If you find a houndstooth scarf you like, I say 'go for it!' It's a classic!
The Fit: the return of the pinstripe cargo pants from Sephoria. I rented a different size, so they are even longer. Shirt is also RTR, it's a giant, oversized shirt dress. It NEEDS cinching so, the vest (my own, bought who knows when or where) is doing the work. I had the shirt hanging out fully, but I tucked it in, I liked it much better. This was primarily so I could reach the pockets, but it also looks like a buttress, so bonus.
The Fab: It's giving fantasy mob wife, but heh, the original inspo was just grey 🩶...I wanted to do a grey look for this week's Cheek Challenge, based loosely on Meeko (yes, the raccoon 🦝) from Pocahontas.... I love the pants, and wanted to wear a black turtle neck, but then I was kind of curious to see what the giant shirt looked like paired with it. I didn't have a belt in mind, it was either this vest or another vest, but I found the pinstripe one first. The boots are ankle boots from old Navy, which is a backup pair I bought because I loved these when I first got them.
The Face: smoky eyes, grey gradients equals ND Xenon. Then for "stripes" I highlighted heavy underneath my eye like I did for my Nala look. Which I'll post eventually. Lips are simple, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Fenty Glow with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Trace'd Out Longwear Waterproof Pencil Lip Liner MVP
“The Collective Clothery of Charming Classy” I don’t know why my brain screamed that when I saw and read this description of your fab experience. I love every element, each detail is a perfect elegance. I really love your style, I absolutely am inspired by the fashion and makeup duo-tastic-ness. You look stunning very poised. I need to get out of my comfort zone thanks for all your inspo your amazing @danielledanielle
Oooh, I'm a sucker for alliteration. A+ alliteration, right there @peculiarzmakeup and thank you
Poised? I only play poised on TV 😂
😂 okay that line was way more impressive then whatever I came up with! You really do look poised. I just go clothes shopping now which I haven’t done in well probably a decade 🙈 but I wanna join the fun! @danielledanielle
You are the queen of proportions @danielledanielle ! I love how this looks both with the vest buttoned or closed. And you knew how to make a voluminous shirt and pant play together rolling up those sleeves for sure. There's always this sort of elegantly draped element to your looks you pull off so well. The grey eyes are also magic. Perfection.
@PDXXXX, thank you so much. I will take that title!
I love a grey smoky eye (and a blue one). If people struggle with the traditional black, a grey is just as smoldering and sometimes more forgiving since it's not such a stark contrast.
In a thread of mine, I asked people to come up with royal stylings for themselves. I def think you're Maiden of the Mod, but I'm dying to know what full, elaborate title you'd give yourself....😂🤔
@danielledanielle "Maiden of the Mod" 😂 I love that. My hair got a lot shorter, straighter, and blonder in the last 6 months and I want to grow it back. So at first I read that and was like, "Do I still look mod without the bob"? And then I went through some photos from earlier this year and was like, girl, even when you're in rocker mode you still bring the prep and your last clothing score was a 3/4 sleeve swing coat, just admit it! 😂 So I will take on that label with honor! I'm following that thread now - it looks great!
@danielledanielle, your pinstripe SEPHORiA pants looked so cool and comfy! You did an amazing job with your look, from head to toe!! Love how you styled the shirt with vest - that was a veeeewry oversized shirt!
That face though. Fab. Absolutely, entirely fabulous!!! 😍
Thanks 🙏🏽 @itsfi . I knooooooow, the shirt is huge, like why make it this way? I have a couple of oversized ones already, but this one is clearly on its own level.
@danielledanielle The baddie vibes this look is giving! I’m totally here for this! You look amazing! 🤩
Oooh, baddie vibes? Yes! And thank you 😊 @JoSometimes
@danielledanielle I love those pants. They look fantastic on you!
Thank you! @PrettyPaint
THE INSPO: NICO X WYNDE'S BRACELET:
I came across a bracelet gifted to me at a small house party almost 20 years back by an acquaintance, Wynde. She reminds me a lot of the iconic Nico, who began as a European model, went on to act in films like "La Dolce Vida," and became best known as the singer of The Velvet Underground emerging from the 1960s Warhol scene continuing as a solo musician until her death. Both share a look that is often streamlined yet accessorized such that their looks read more eclectic and even a touch 70's Boho:
THE FIT:
Nico had a style arc ranging from very glam 50's as a model and actress to androgynous tailored menswear in the 60's to streamlined flowy (usually black) clothing made a bit boho with her accessory choices in the 70's. I tried for a blend with a Madewell black turtleneck, J. Crew poncho, thrifted dark grey Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans, and Vince square-toe wedge booties:
THE FAB AND THE FACE:
Most importantly, the silver bracelet Wyde gave me that I used as the lone accessory in this outfit. The unisex, discontinued, woody, almost feral Driftwood perfume from House Of Gloi. And the PATRICK TA Major Dimension III Matte Eyeshadow Palette mixed with Yves Saint Laurent Couture Mini Clutch Eyeshadow Palette in Stora Doll I used for my eye look:
The hallmark of Nico's makeup is her black-ringed eyeliner and pink/peach lip. I'm still working up the courage for black liner so I just added Kosas Weightless Lip Color Nourishing Satin Lipstick in Fantasy Life for a look that landed here:
Amazing look! It’s so fun to read about the history and also inspiration I love your take on it and how beautiful your fit and makeup incorporate something so meaningful! You look amazing 🤩 @PDXXXX
