Show Me Your Declutters!

I received an order today with four new lipsticks,

(Lancome L'Absolue Lacquer...I will never ever stop mentioning these every-dang-where 😄😍)

but had absolutely no room for them in my containers. While the thought "buy more containers" crossed my mind for a brief second, I quickly dismissed it as I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with too much stuff. I'd been pulling out one or two here and there, but today was the big reckoning!Sorry I didn't stage a better pic, but that's 55 lip items that are now gloriously gone from my stash!

This is only the stuff I pulled today; I have a small train case packed full of the other lippies (and some palettes) that I've been slowly pulling over the last couple of months. Do I still have more I could get rid of? Yeah, most likely...if I was on the fence, I erred on the side of keeping it rather than tossing. And I didn't swatch every single keeper to weed out similar shades, so there's probably still a good bit of overlap in my berry-heavy collection. But my oh my, I feel soooo much better now. I found not only things I had forgotten about, but things I really had no clue I even owned in the first place 🤣

It's been almost 6 months to the day that I did my last "inventory check" 😆. At that time, I had set aside a handful of already open / partially used lip products to see if I would reach for them again. If no, then I'd declutter them. Here's what I've ended up tossing:

18 lippies DECLUTTERED

And here are some new, unusued products that have been donated to a local women's shelter. Some of these were purchased as backups (and I've either found something else I like better or there's no way I'm going to get through the original I have), received as gwp, gratis or PR, or products that I found in an old sub box that I didn't open until now (umm... whoops!) 

17 items DONATED

That's a total of 35 items out the door. I probably need to do this more frequently and will aim to try again before the end of the year. There *hopefully* shouldn't be too many unusued products in the house, but then again, I didn't think I had all these extras. Sigh. @RGbrown

@itsfi  Wow that’s a good amount of lippies you declutter! Saving room for much better ones that you will reach for more!! That’s an awesome idea to donate to the womens shelter. I may need to steal that idea! When I was travelling more I use to bring them to Cuba and leave my unused products for the people at the resort. They didn’t say anything but I always left a note and they disappeared!

@itsfi Wow you did amazing! That's a whole ton of lippie declutters, major kudos to you! Truly makes me inspired to reach into some of my drawers and beauty cabinets. 🙂 Also love the idea of donated unused, unopened products to a women's shelter I'm sure these items will get much good use in their new home.

Thank you @curlychiquita! Revisiting what I have and realistically assessing what I'm actually capable of using up has been eye opening and humbling. Going to try to be better about not overdoing the backups or picking up too many new things that only get used once or twice. 🤞 Happy to be able to pass some products along.

@Ispend2much6, lol, most of those lippies are definitely in that MLBB zone that I keep going back to time and time again. 😆 And I just noticed (despite it staring me in the face 🙄) that all the lippies are glosses. As much as I love a good glosses, the last couple of years were not great for those beauties. It feels good to move out some things; happy that there are many items that will go to new homes.

@itsfi Wonderful declutter! Thank you for posting and reminding me I need to do this! I have been hanging on to some items for too long. I would love to donate some items too!
