Shop Your Stash / Use Your Stash Challenge: Fall 2025 🍂🍁

Fall is almost here, folks! I've been going through some of my drawers, doing a little reorganizing and finding things in my collection that I'd like to use more during the cooler season. I'm not looking to pan or use up these products necessarily, more just trying to get more use out of them and deciding whether to keep them in my collection or declutter before the end of the year. If you have some items that could benefit from the same, please join me. 

Feel free to use this space to identify and talk through beauty product(s) that you'd like to use or work through this fall (or through the end of the year) - be it makeup, skincare, bath & body products, fragrance, hair care, or other beauty items that are best suited for the autumn season or products in your stash that have been needing some more of your attention. 

How To Shop Your Stash:

Go through your collection and pick out product(s) you want to work on using this fall or for the remainder of the year. It can be one item, or 2, 3, or 20+. Up to you. 

Purpose of Shop Your Stash:

This challenge can serve a number of functions, depending on what you have in your stash and what you're looking to achieve, including an opportunity to:

• Rotate and use products that are ideal or better suited for the fall months as a result of their shades, consistency, texture or otherwise

• Use the beauty items we already have on hand or "shopping our stash" - this can help with being more savvy shoppers by helping us to be more mindful with our beauty spend by (i) not thinking we have to have all the new things all the time (or all at once) or (ii) finding not just what we love/like but what we may be missing in our current collections. With the holidays coming up, I'm looking at this as a way to  manage my spending by helping me figure out what it is I really want (everything looks so good!) or identify what I'm missing from my collection that I want to pick up during those fabulous year end sales.

• Ease our way towards panning products or identifying what product(s) we want to try to work on including in a project pan next year! It can be daunting trying to figure out what items to work on for a year long project pan, but taking it in 3-month intervals gives me a better idea of what products I can see myself keeping up with for a whole year and which I may need to include a couple of in a project pan so I have some variety.  

Remember, including items in a use/shop your stash doesn't mean they are the only items you can use for the season. It can if that's how you want to approach it. You can also pick more than one of the same type of item to shop / use for the fall so that  you have variety. Set aside half a dozen lipstick shades you want to incorporate into your looks this season. Or, pull out a few foundations that work best for your skin type and color as the weather cools down. 

I'm going to take a day or two to think about what items I want to include in this season's shop my stash and will post them here when I figure that out.

Here are the items I've selected for this Fall 2025 Shop Your Stash Challenge!

Most of these are new/new-to-me items that I haven't used much (or at all) and would like to get more play time with. Some (berry blushes, dark/warm lippies), I chose because I thought they were good cooler-weather shades. A few (concealers, lash primers) are "on the chopping block" and may end up being decluttered, but I wanted to give them one last fair shake before I make a decision. And I have a handful of fragrance samples that I'm hoping to use up, since I already have the full size bottles of those fragrances and I'd like to hopefully clear up a little space in my enormous hoard of fragrance samples! I did try to choose scents that I thought would work well for fall/winter.

Apologies for not tagging/individually listing every product - I had done all that, and then the page glitched and ate my whole post 😭 and I don't feel like doing it all again. Maybe I'll come back later with more specific info.

No promises on when/how often I'll post here again 😅 but I'll do my best to keep y'all updated as we go along!

@caitbird, these look like some great beauties to cycle through this season and a good mix of options, too! It's paintful when you lose what you typed up; completely understand not wanting to redo that. Those Kulfi cream blushes are so well pigmented. They work well mixed with other shades as lip color.

@caitbird, if you mix the Kulfi with a balm or lip oil, it'll give it more slip and make it easier to apply and/or you can mix it with a lipstick or balm/oil that has a brown/nude base (or red) base to give it the color the undertone of the Kulfi blush shade.

Happy fall, everyone! 🍂 Here we go, my shop my stash items from now through the end of the year. I have a couple of other fragrance sets I found after I took the photo 😬 so I'll be back later to include specifics about each group of products. With the exception of the hair masks, I'm not planning on using everything up; just making more use or more consistent use of what I've shopped. 😉

Hair Masks:

I currently alternate between two different hair masks for the most part, every 7-10 days, depending on how often I use a heat styling product on my hair - more frequently in the cooler seasons. I'll plan to incorporate one hair mask sample packet into the rotation every month from now until year end, which means I should have at least one foil every month for the Foil Challenge through the end of the year. Trying to chip away at my foil samples too. two birds, one stone ...

Fragrance Discovery Sets:

I'll be making an effort to go through most of my fragrance discovery sets, including ones I've gone through earlier in the year and years past, like the ones from Elorea which I tried in the spring. Some of these perfumes I'll be layering with other fragrances from my collection, including some perfumes that may be on the chopping block, if you will. Who knows, maybe I'll find a pairing that keeps a pefume from getting decluttered from my collection?!

Tools (in the white pouch (gratis)):

The goal is to use my skincare / body care tools more consistently this fall, including NuFACE MINI+ Smart Petite Facial Toning Routine (gratis) and face gua sha.

Fall Lipsticks (also in the white bag):

I've set aside a small handful of my more vibrant, bolder lipstick shades to use more frequently this fall. These will be in addition to whatever lip products I include in my weekly capsules for the  Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2025. Well, that'll have to start next week since my capsule this week will be pretty robust as far as lipsticks go. 😬

The inspo for including these lipsticks in my fall shop my stash is our fabulous @blackkitty2014 - she not only uses the good stuff in her collection (all the stuff in her collection is the good stuff, btw! and she's smart in what she chooses to purchase!), she pans them - year in and year out on the annual Pan It! - 2025 Challenge! Brava! Bra-va! 👏👏

I won't be wearing these exclusively during the fall but my plan is to reach for 2 of these lipsticks a week, at a minimum. This will dovetail nicely with whatever lip products I'll be using as part of my weekly makeup capsule for the Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2025 and, perhaps, through this exercise, I will find my go-to lip color for this year's holiday / year end festivities. Some looks may make their way to the 100 Days of Lipstick Challenge and if there's a pairing with a liner, gloss or other product that I find myself going back to often enough, it may find its way to the Lips on Lock 🔐: List Your Lip Combos 💄👄 thread. 

@curlychiquita, referring back to an exchange one of the threads about the wear of the TF lipsticks in the FF line, I personally have not found them to be too drying. 

My lips lean on the drier side, especially this time of the year. I try to keep a consistent lip care / lip prep routine as a result of this and because, as I've aged, the lines on my lip are just more noticeable. This is a semi matte product so there's going to be some dryness that comes with it, but it's not uncomfortable, certainly not to the extent as other matte or liquid lipsticks out there or the few that I have in my collection. I find it a lot less drying than Violette fr., Givenchy, or Dior Rouge Transfer Proof 😞.

There's a host of factors that play into how dry it might come across though, including normal hydration level of lips, amount of hydration/moisture our lips need, climate, environmental conditions, how often you wear matte/liquid lipsticks, age, lip care/prep, etc., so I can see it being more drying for some than others. I may have just lucked out with the formulation working fine for me. I'll be rotating through these TF lipstick this season so if my experience with them changes and they suddenly become more drying, I'll let you know.

UPDATE 10.6.2025  @PrettyPaint (and anyone else who may be interested in the Elorea discovery sets) - if you were thinking about picking up one or more of the fragrance discovery set, don't think too long. Elorea will be discontinuing the sets soon, permanently.
