Sephora Brush Sets being sold at Walmart!

Okay ladies, I noticed something SO weird while browsing around the christmas gift set area today at my local Walmart.

I recently purchased the Sephora Rose Gold Mineral Brush Set on sale at Sephora for $29, so I know exactly what it looks like in person and online. I've felt and played around with the brushes and I'm positive I've found the EXACT same set at Walmart for $14.. right down to the details and texture of the travel case.

The only thing is it isn't labeled at Sephora, theres no silver hardware on it that says so, but i opened the package and saw the exact same brushes right down to the colour and size of the same set i have and payed double the price.. and originally double THAT price!

How insane is that..

Happens all the time, all made at the same factory in China for private labeling.  You pay 2X the money for that little silver tab that says Sephora and the posh shopping experience.  It also happens a lot with clothes, designer label and knock-off being made side by side.

I remember I bought some shoes from Aldo once and a few days later I went to the Bay and Material Girl had the exact same ones for much cheaper. I still don't really understand how that can happen, but it is so ridiculous.

It's not just brushes, as bratknits says, nor just Sephora. Even bigger, prestige brands do this. It's often the makeup in special sets from many companies too.  This is why I'm always checking and wondering if gift sets, 'special' palettes etc. are comprised of mini or bundled product from the regular line or some kind of no-name (or in this case no-number) items.. Occasionally it's like the regular line but most of the time, it's really not.

Yep, I find holiday sets to often be very lacking. Tarte in particular is one brand that I've found this to be very obvious in.

how might tart be? Just curios (: I tend to stay away from holiday sets as well. Kinda new to the whole buying sets thing. I gave in to a tart set that's why. First time ever. I wanted to know what to look out for.

Some say Stila as well. Even Chanel did one a few years ago. 😉 

I saw it and at first it was 'Hooray!!' Then when I read the description I was so bummed!
